1st Time Pool Owner 36,000 gallons tackling algae problem

Can you remove the cartridges and show them before and after cleaning?
I just cleaned the cartridge earlier and didn't see this. The very first cleaning, the cartridges were green. Now today when i cleaned it, it was gray, but i cleaned them and they were white. May i ask how come you want to see a photo? is there something i should look for?

Looks like maybe some copper stains.

Is there a mineral cartridge in the Fusion SWG?

If yes, you should remove the mineral cartridge.

Maybe test the water for copper.

Maybe get a stain id kit.
Yes, i have a mineral cartidge in the Fusion SWG. I have no idea how old it is. Can i just remove it completely? What's the point of it?

Green like algae or more like turquoise or blue?

Looking for signs of copper, which is usually a greenish blue or turquoise.

The mineral cartridge adds copper and silver, which can cause stains that are turquoise, grey or black.

I would remove the mineral cartridge.

Green like algae.. the pool was a disgusting swampy green color. The current condition is 100% better and so clear. It just is confusing because i see some pools have a light blue water color. See the photo, this is on zillow when the house was listed. It looks like it was never a light blue color.

Here is what it looks like now. I went out today and the water is looking much better. I'm not sure though, do you still feel like it's stained? I went ahead and purchased the stain ID kit anyway.E622C766-87D6-4D42-A8AA-49EF5AF1FCD5.JPG

To me, this turquoise jumps out as copper.

Copper is also grey to black, which blends into your plaster color, so it is difficult to tell what is original color and what is copper.

Wow. Interesting. Is that your pool? What stains were those? Did you have to drain the pool to clean that up? Am i also going to have to drain my pool to clean it?? I just got my water levels right

The water is clear, but its still not a light blue color like the one at my neighborhood community center. How do i achieve that?

The water will have a different color depending on the finish when my pool was blue the water has a deep blue color than when it was white it has a teal color. Looks like you have a pebble finish which a lot of people like and is more expensive to have done but depending on the pebble finish it will effect the color of your water.
