1st time closing pool in Michigan area. What to do with basketball, handrails and p

4 questions for first time closing of pool in frozen tundra Michigan area.

1) what do I do with the handrail and basketball unit? Both are tightened into sleeves in cement. I’m thinking taking out and putting in garage may be smart? Or just leave in cement? If I take out, I’m assuming I should cap the holes but we don’t have caps, may need to get some quick!

Polywood Adirondack chairs in brown color. Should I cover these? I see some do and a few don’t? I’m assuming covers would make last longer.

Heavy 120 lb umbrella plastic bases full of sand. Put these in garage? Or leave out and maybe cover?

bug huge Costco plastic boxes full of toys and floats. Can these stay out all winter?

Any items stored out of the elements for the winter will always last a lot longer. I would bring in the chairs, umbrella base, toys, etc. inside the garage if you can and have the room. I have walk down basement steps through a BILCO door and everything goes downstairs. There are 2 large tables and many chairs. Almost 100% of the items outside during the swim season are stored in the basement.

Regarding your handrail, you can bring inside as well. Remember that you have to loosen the bolts slightly, tap down the bolt, and wiggle the handrail up. Be careful not to remove the bolt completely or you may not get the handrail out. Use hot water if giving you trouble. Some people just leave these out to begin with. Regarding your basketball unit, I can not advise as I am not familiar with your set up.
