The Jacks is a metal sequestrant that is a precaution against metal staining early in the plaster curing. I assume you are on city water and therefore the risk of metal is low. But, it won't hurt to add it since you already have it. Running PH lower early is a good idea. Keeping PH at 7.8 or lower is most important. I would add 20 ppm of CYA in a sock. You can hang it from a stick in front of a return or out it in the skimmer basket (in a sock).
