I have a 1994 Hotspring Hightlife K series I inherited from my parents and it has been working fine until now. I did the water change to prep for "winter" here in Arizona and now the heater does not work. I think it is the dial, as last year I would have to push it in and turn a specific way in order to get the heater to work.
I found a new dial for the light on backyardplus for $35, will that work for the heater dial?, or should I spend the $105 for the whole new control panel? Thank in advance

Pics of the dial you are thinking of buying and pics of the control panel electronics may let us help you.

Do you have a multimeter to do some electronics diagnostics?

You can never be sure if just guessing at parts will fix a problem.

Doubt it's the dial. They're just mechanical and very reliable. You're supposed to have to push them in to adjust the temp. Its a safety feature. Which heater do you have? Can you provide a picture of it? If it's old, it has probably failed. My '95 Hotspring Grandee had the original heater in it when I bought it and it finally failed this year.

That being said, what's your control panel status light doing when you power the tub up? On solid? Flashing? Do your jet pumps work? There could be other reasons why the heater isn't coming on.
