Pool pump for single sheer decent (Whisperflo or WaterFall)

We are redoing our pool and have a question about a pump. We have a pump for the pool (VS Intelliflo), and another pump for a water feature.

The water feature was originally a humongous waterfall with a 3HP pump. We replaced the big waterfall with a smaller wall with a single 2' sheer decent. The 3HP pump is way overkill.

Our pool guy wants to replace the 3HP pump with a 1/2 HP Pentair Whisperflo. I thought the Pentair WaterFall Specialty pump would be a better choice. Is the Whisperflo a better option, or an OK option?
(note we still have to landscape around pool now!)

A WhisperFlo pump is a bad choice for a fountain.

I would not use a separate pump. I would just use a valve to the fountain and run it off the main pump.

If you want to use a separate pump, the specialty pump is the best choice.
