It's a Phantom 2 Vision Plus that I modified to take a SJ5000 camera, and use it for FPV.

I think I'm on one side of that line, but I think my wife puts me firmly on the other!

The tricky part was staying UNDER the maple until just the right time to climb to avoid the pool.

Do you have to call the airport every time you want to fly if you are within 5 miles of one?
That would get old since we do.

Check out TheRcSaylors youtube channel. Family friendly and they give honest reviews of all types of RC stuff. Lots of cheap quads and drones that do a pretty decent job.

You are supposed to, I live well outside of one, so I haven't had to.
If you are staying at, or below tree top level, I would think that you could skip it, but if you get a "Fly Away". you may have some explaining to do if you haven't informed them in advance.
