About a week into the new pool\kitchen build figured I’d share some pictures. I’ve been reading a lot of post and wanted to say thanks for all the help they’ve been.
That is as good as a beginning gets! Men with paint and a tape measure! Is that the digger to the left waiting to start digging?
So..........do you have the spec sheet for the pool you can share? What about the is of equipment? I am going to guess you know what we will be looking for if you have been doing some reading but it never hurts to get input on your pool.
Welcome to TFP! The weather has been perfect this week for a new pool. At some point feel free to update your signature so it shows at the bottom of every post, and include which test kit you'll be using to test that water. Of course here at TFP, the proper test kit (TF-100 link below) is always #1. Have a great day.
So they’ve been at it for about a week making good progress.
When all done should be as follows
Pool will be 34ft sports pool 3.6/6/4.6.u
Equipment will be Jandy setup 400k heater, 2hp variable speed pump, DE filter, ozone, etc. kitchen is all DCS 48” grill, side burners, chiller sink, trash, access doors, etc...
Great progress! Will you be able to be there for the gunite shoot? Some times they have questions, concerns, or ideas. If you are there you can answer them. It is also neat to see!
Yes I will be here when they do it exited to see how it turns out. My ground is almost solid rock the spent 100 hours over plan during excavation good thing had clause covering rock.
Looking good! I can well imagine it taking over 100 hours. Our tiny pool took about 38 and it was shale, not solid rock. The hammer attachment was used pretty much the entire dig. You're lucky you had that covered in your quote. Here in Australia very few pbs will do a fixed price dig. Looking forward to seeing it after gunite.
Ya they had a one month special where they did fixed cost excavations. I’m pretty sure I won on that one. You can see in the pictures the ground turns to white rock after about a foot.
I’m also in the SA area. I know which builder you are using. We have selected a different builder, but I am just curious what would your contact have said if you did not ge the unlimited rock removal?
Probably something along the lines of X hours of excavation with a surcharge for every hour past that. Would have added up fast heard of some coming in $10000 over on excavations alone!
riley00dog above is the one to answer this this as she just had it done. She had 30 hours in her contract but her dig went 7? hours over. I am not sure how much she had to pay for it though.
