New Member, 1st question - Filter Pressure

Hi All,

End of July we moved into the house and I had the filter cleaned by Patio Pools here in Tucson. A little after that the filter pressure gauge read 17 pounds (first time I remember looking at it). It still reads 17 pounds. In fact it ALWAYS reads 17 pounds, pump on or off. Is this normal? The system has an ozone thing and a blue hose from the filter pressure release valve to the return line. The Ultra Pure instructions call this an "External Safety Air Bleed Line". I have no idea if this is causing the filter pressure.

17 might be normal depending on what your pumping (speed, distance, etc although it seems high) but its 0 when the pump is off so you must have a bad gage, did you tap it? They only cost a few bucks at a pool store or online.

I was thinking gauge. Yeah I tapped it. shook it and spoke harshly to it. No movement. Thanks

I like these from TFtestkits... TFTestkits.net

They are better than the original ones and the ones you can buy at the pool store. They only read up to 30 lbs. making them easier to read..
