Lithium Hypochlorite For Chlorine Source

Hi,
First post here, but have learned a lot reading.
I searched the forum but can't quite find the answer to the question:
Whenever LH comes up as a chlorine source, it is always recommended against due to cost. If I'm doing the math correctly, I'm thinking I would be spending (wasting) around $40-50 per year vs. bleach.
This would be an acceptable premium to me to not deal with liquid bleach, in my bathrobe, at 10pm, while its 15 degrees F outside. The thought is that I can pre-package granules in baggies or small containers and it would be easier to pop open and dump.

For startup or other times I would still use the liquid.

Thoughts? am I missing something or is it just about the cost?

Thanks.

Yeah, the cost is prohibitive to some.

I'll tell you my latest joy- a small salt water generator for my hot tub! Its working marvelously and relieves me of having to put sanitizer in almost daily whether using it or not! Google the Saltron Mini. Might be worth it to you, about $170
