After six months of pool ownership, after six months of never getting the pool chemistry correct, I finally found this website. With all of the advice from these forums I have FINALLY SLAMmed the pool and appear to be on the right track.
In the event that we take off for 5 days, what is the preferred chemical ratio to leave the pool alone while unable to check the water? Or is 5 days short enough to leave it alone? And how about for a 2 week trip?

Assuming the SWG is dialed in ... I would just check and lower the pH and then not think about the pool while on vacation

Have you figured out the right SWG % yet and raised your CYA? Your SWG is oversized enough that you can get by with low CYA but things should be more consistant if your CYA is around 60-80 vs 30-40...

I know you've had some up and downs getting things straight but once you do it should be a piece of cake to go on vacation.

Can you imagine?? I was still on the kick that I will never be able to balance my pool! Haha forgot that this seems to be working.

I am running my SWG at 40%. My CYA is slowly climbing to 60. Last check was 45. Still have some chems in my sock disolving!
