HELP! Pool turned green and I can’t get it back to clear.

AKALINITY - 50
CYA - unknown, probably low or none, out of test samples liquid
Filter on for 3 days in a row now, pool is still green after I came back from a week’s vacation trip.

CYA?

pH test is not valid when FC is over 10.

No well. Nothing unusual, just lazy and neglected before I left for vacation. It was a little green before I left, didn’t expect it to go this green after a week, lesson learned to dump shock in it before I leave next time. CYA unknown because I’m out of the test kits for CYA testing, but I’m sure it’s low if any at all.

Get new CYA reagent and keep feeding your pool chlorine.

Water will clear up in time but you need to get the correct FC/CYA ratio.

Follow the SLAM Process

Pick a spot or two in your pool and take a pic about the same time every day. See if the water color is changing.

It can take a week or more to clear up an algae problem.
