After losing 5-8" of water weekly since installation at the end of July, I've came to the conclusion that there's a leak at our main drain (with no help from the installation company who won't return my calls, grr). I've tightened the bolts on the drain plate. Is there anything else that can be done? I read on another site about a product called Fix A Leak but not sure if this will help our problem. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings and welcome. Is it losing water with the pump turned off? Have you attempted any dye testing?
There is a hydrostatic valve that can get stuck open.

Thanks for the info. It loses the same amount regardless of pump running and even when the main drain valve on the outside is turned off. There's also at least a few inch dip in the center of the pool- it was level when installed. I've read about the dye test but it's been too cold to get in. It's supposed to warm up this week so I'll try that.
UPDATE- I used a bottle of Fix A Leak yesterday and only lost 0.5" in a little over 24 hrs. Prior, we'd been losing 1"+ per day. Hopefully this means it's working!
