14x28 rectangle pool-is it big enough?

I have a Leisure Pool Elegance 26 (see attached spec sheet) but it is 14'6" x 26'3" (interior dimensions). The 14'6" is the bump out for the stairs and seating shelf, 11'6" is only 12'6" wide, we have found that plenty big enough for us. It is just for me and my wife (and occasional visitors, of which there have been a LOT), but we have found that it is a great size, we were limited by yard size and setbacks for Fairfax County, VA (and we wanted to keep some of the yard available for the grandson and our dogs.

We did the tape layout when we were trying to figure out placement, and that was helpful, just be mindful that you will have "stuff" around your pool, so we also laid out the decking and outer perimeter.

As mentioned, 90% of the time it is me and the wife, but we have had guests (with kids) and had as many as 6 people in the pool and its didn't feel crowded. We also chose this brand/style of pool because of the styling, we had a look we were going for and this met our need (we initially considered gunite, but we were buying almost the exact pool, so the FG was less $$$).

I hope this helps, reach out if there are any questions.

We just built a 15 x 26 with an 8x8 spa. No regrets. We were limited by out yard. I did elect to go a bit deeper than standard and went from 4-1/2 to 5-1/2 ft deep. Nice gentle slope and very comfortable for a couple of families to enjoy.

Hello everyone, my husband and I just bought a new home and want to get an inground pool. We're thinking about going with a 14x28 rectangle pool. My concern is it being too small. Does anyone have pics of a 14x28 so I will be able to see just how big it is? I would really appreciate it.
The semi-in ground I just had installed is 14 x 30 I have a small family and I mostly hate people 😜

Mine is just going in . 12x24and 7 ‘ deep. I have a small shallow end. I wanted to dive. I’m used to diving into a 6 foot pool. I am worried now that I don’t have enough shallow end. I have about 3’ length then it slopes. The pool seems big though.

We have a 14 x 28 and we love it! I would probably preferred bigger but that's the size that came with the home we purchased. However, I did read that you have to make sure your yard and groundwater depth can accommodate a bigger and deeper pool. Some yards have a higher water table and I read that you cannot go bigger or deeper when building otherwise you are fighting the pool pop syndrome. Not sure if that's true or not.

Oh how perfect!! I miss diving, my pool is too shallow at 6'.

Get some noodles and floats so anyone not diving can just float around.

Our pool is 12x28, which is perfect for my wife and me. Everything is exponentially more expensive when you live 10 miles off road on the beach. We get a lot of guests here and it does fine when there are 8-10 people at the pool. The actual water area of the pool is really only about 11x26.

Thank you so much for sharing!! It looks lovely. My husband and I and a couple of neighbors will likely be in it most often. I love to entertain though and was concerned that we wouldn't have enough space. We do have a tanning ledge though that takes up 9 feet or so with ledge and steps, so that leaves 19 feet of swim area. I have asked if it can be all the same depth so that we can stand and not be on a slope with varied depth. Knowing that 8-10 people fit well is very reassuring to me! It is too late to change our design. My husband will be grateful to you also as I have been fretting for quite some time! :)
