    Bleach

Is it safe to use bleach when shocking a pool with a pebbletec surface?

    Re: Bleach

chlorine is chlorine! Bleach and liquid chlorine or shock are one and the same thing in different bottles (and sometimes, but not always, at different strengths). All forms of chlorine form hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ions once in the water. Doesn't matter if it came from bleach, trichlor tabs, or chlorine gas injection (or any other form of chlorine available).

    Re: Bleach

kenny, chances are you can get liquid chlorine at the pool store for a lot cheaper than bleach, especially considering the strength differences.

    Re: Bleach

Bleach should be added by pouring slowly in front of a return jet (with the pump running). Always add chemicals with the pump running.
