Equipment Pad

Does anyone have one of these for their pump/filter?

Seems like a pretty good alternative to concrete. Certainly cheaper than having a concrete pad poured.

I have something similar (see My Pool link below). Held-up pretty good so far. Later I may need to expand my pad though, so I'm undecided as to if I will buy another and set them side-by-side, or just remove and pour concrete. But it's easy and convenient to use that's for sure.

Mine sagged a little in the middle from the weight of the pump so it wanted to hold a little water after a rain. I drilled a couple of holes and the problem was solved

That looks easier than concrete, but I'm not sure it's cheaper. 2 80lb. bags of quikrete will make a 2'x2' 4" thick slab. That will cost about $8.

Like I said, concrete is cheaper not easier!

Unfortunately concrete isn't cheaper when you're having someone else do it. I'm getting too old to do projects like that...


Any problems w it being black - absorbing the sun/heat and all? They do have a gray one but it's half the weight and obviously not as heavy duty.

Our builder just used 4 18 inch concrete pavers and pea gravel to make our equipment pad. We expanded it out with the same when we added our heater
