My pool is an in-ground 40 year old pool that had a fiber tech finish applied to it 25 years ago and I would like to remove the coating and resurface any ideas? I've been told I can sand blast it off or torch it off any suggestions it is a 16' x 32' x 5' Thanks any feedback is appreciated.

There are a few blisters and a bunch of small bubbles, gel coat seems to be worn off. We have a tight budget and we're looking to downsize contemplating just getting rid of the pool as it takes up most of the yard with that said it's real nice to have on a hot day.
In some cases you can scrape off the fiberglass.
What are you resurfacing with?
Is there a layer of plaster under the fiberglass that needs to be removed?

Sand blasting would be very slow. Water blasting or grinding would be better. Are you going to chip out the cement or plaster coat and replaster?
