I bit the dust!

Wow! That's an awful looking foot and ankle! You have my sympathies on that. Yep, I broke my foot once and sprained my ankle 3 times. The sprains were far worse. Don't rush the recovery! And be sweet to your wife while you're not rushing it! Lol!

Reading all the talk about Deep Eddy vodka brought up some great memories. I grew up spending summers in Austin and much of it at Deep Eddy - the pool! I wonder if it's still there.... I thought all the steps were so cool and the water so cold. Best shallow end ever!!!

Take care of yourself!

Cheif you need to tell him it is elevate the ankle NOT just adult beverages! LOL

Too bad we cannot buy time for things like this :( I am glad it is heading in the correct direction.

AWESOME job wife! You are doing something right for him to say that LOL

It's been 4 weeks. Pain is low (2ish), mobility is high (8ish). The only thing I have to be careful with is going down stairs. And being on it all day still leaves it a bit sore and swollen.

Well, the wife's an OB not an orthopedic doc so you're not her kind of patient but she thinks 4 weeks with that kind of swelling may be worth a trip to the orthopedic doc for a consult. It could very well be that you're simply not staying off it enough but there may be some hairline fractures that an x-ray won't pick up.

Go see a specialist dude....I'm sure you can barter one of the baby donkey's or some smoked cheesy meatloaf for a consult....

Oh yeah, I know definitely just abusing it. No ice, no compression, no boot, little elevation. It is waayy better. I wouldn't listen to Dr if I did go see one. I only did 4 days of elevation and ice in the beginning. Ain't nobody got time for that! :-D
