I suspect that my bottom drain isn't working. I don't feel any suction when i put my hand over it. Can i use some type of dye or food coloring to test it ? Thank you.

It is normal to not feel water movement into the drain. Your plumbing should reveal whether or not you have suction from the floor. What suction lines do you have at your pump? What holes in the bottom of the skimmer? Float diverter in skimmer?
