SLAM problem

I've been slamming for the last 4 days (also cleaned the filter which was filthy). Water is clear. Combined chlorine is .5 or or below. But over night loss is still at 4.5. What am I doing wrong?

PH 7.4
TA 70

What is your FC level at? Are you making sure to maintain it at the right level for your pool (e.g. use Pool Math Calculator).

FC was at 16 for slamming at 40 CYA. in the morning it was 11.5.

Slam is a process that can take several days. Even if your water is clear, your overnight FC loss says you still have (invisible) organics in your pool that need to be killed by the SLAM level FC.

Stay the course. Keep you FC up at SLAM until you pass the OCLT.

as stated above.. Keep FC at slam level, check and adjust FC as often as possible, brushing pool helps. My slam took 2 weeks, be patient you will get there.
