Paramount Valve Head Mounting Height Above Waterline?

I feel like I read this someplace. My pool ended up being higher than this valve and it was unexpected and before I ask the installer to cut these and increase them I wanted to see if this is true or maybe I am mistaken and what happens if it's below the water line?

When you open up to service the water will flood out and make it more difficult to replace module or o-ring

Have them raise it - for the exact reasons stated by kadavis. If the installer baulks at the idea, have them specifically show you in the install manual where it says that it's okay in it's present position.
