pump times?

It really varies for every pool based on many different factors, one of the most important being surface debris removal to the skimmer(s). You might like to read the TFP Pool School - Determine Pump Run Time page. When at a total loss of where to start, run the pump for about 8 hours and then adjust from there based on your pool's response and cleanliness.

You can probably get away with half that.
Your auto-chlorine system is probably a bigger issue than your pump if it uses tablets.

Will stick with them for the moment, since we just bought a giant bucket of them, and have a trip or two coming in the summer...
Going to read some more today. Cutting back to 10 for now.
Put one gal of the acid in yesterday, and the pH seems perfect now.
