Hi Dave,
My company does Radiant Barriers. I am the owner of Capital City Eco Energy Savers LLC (http://www.CapCityEco.com) but we do not do foil barriers. According to the Department of Energy a foil barrier is very effective for the first 2-3 years. Once dust starts settling on it starts loosing its effectiveness. After about 5 years it can be compromised by about 50%.
We have ripped out many foil barriers and treated the home with Radiosity.
