So, I have been battling High CYA since I moved in last year (end of June) and of course, I did not know that I had an issue until I joined TFP. I tried Bio-Active (http://http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/93982-Testing-bio-active), added two bags at different times, the first time, results are on that link above. The second time, it was basically worthless. I gave up, and started to do partial drains, for a couple of weekends, and finally, this past weekend I was able to lower my CYA to 50. All good, but then I started to get Algae, so as soon as I noticed, I started SLAM.
Last night my pool passed OCLT with 0 loss (with pump on 24hrs), but today, the loss of chlorine during the day was very high, about 8ppm. Should I be worried that there's still something in the pool? Should I continue to SLAM? I never had CYA this low, this is my first pool, and it's very hot here in South Florida. So, I am not sure what my loss during the day should be, but I think 8ppm is too much, no?
This is my test results since I first noticed the algae. I am using liquid chlorine 10% from Leslie's.
Updated test results as of 7/26 (afternoon)
Thanks!
