10 degrees - no power

Power went out last night at some point. I was running in freeze protect but now It appears that I’m frozen. I have a cyclonic filter that’s clear, i can see that it’s frozen Dang near solid. Power is still out and I don’t think we’ll be above freezing for a few days.

i turned off the breakers at the equipment pad so if power comes back on it doesn’t start trying to work with ice in it.
Is this the right thing to do? Any other precautions I can make that I’m not too late on.

Yes. Now just remove those pump and filter drain plugs just in case something "tries" to drain. Cover the equipment and exposed lines as best as you can. Put an empty plastic jug in teh skimmer as well.

It acts like an expansion relief mechanism. If the ice forms, it will crush the jug first. You can use small empty plastic soda bottles, too. Plus, it might increase movement in the water.

Any kind of sealed plastic container will work ( milk ,soda,ketchup etc ). I have also heard of people using tennis balls in the skimmers to help with expansion also.
