    Stenner Pump Not Working

So, would any waterproof marine grease be sufficient, like Lucas Oil or Blaster? Saw this TFP thread also asking about the Aquashield and got a little spooked about using something else.

    Stenner Pump Not Working

Thanks for the quick replies. Watched the video and ordered a replacement tube. Is there an alternative to the Aquashield grease that is acceptable to use? That's hard to find and takes a while to ship. Would really like to try to get the pump back up and running this weekend. @CA92807, nice...

    Stenner Pump Not Working

I've had my DIY liquid chlorinator for a little over a year now (1y3m). Unfortunately, my Stenner Pump (45MPHP10) has stopped working, and I'm just outside of the warranty (1yr). I test my water about once a week. This week, I tested it and found there was no chlorine in the pool. I turned the...

    Cracks / Leaks at Skimmer

I don't have a syringe, but I tried the test by putting drops in areas where I thought it might be leaking, and I didn't see it seep anywhere. I was starting to think maybe it was only near the top, where the coping is touching the skimmer box. However, the water level isn't close to the top...

Thanks for sharing the trick to test for the leak. I'll try that out. :)

    Cracks / Leaks at Skimmer

Yes, past my warranty, and I think the builder may be out of business now. :( I agree, it seems like pool water to me. I was hoping maybe it was related to the coping crack and water splashing up there when I have my water features own (creates quite a wake in the pool). That said, if indeed...

    Cracks / Leaks at Skimmer

As far as I can tell, the skimmer doesn't seem compromised. I do not see any cracks in the skimmer, and the leak seems very slow (not usually puddling, like seen in the pic).

    Cracks / Leaks at Skimmer

Our deck has moved and cracked more than I expected. I noticed a few months back that there was a crack in the side wall near my skimmer, and I can clearly tell it's leaking now. Note that this happened prior to the freeze here in Texas a couple of weeks ago, so it's unrelated to that. While it...

    My Automated Liquid Chlorinator Build

Honestly, I have no idea. I think it was the original electrician that installed the ET8, but they sure did it the way I'd want it done! I'm a bit OCD, so I certainly appreciated it, and especially when I was adding to it. :) Thanks! That's a great question. I almost put that in my write-up...

Yeah, pics coming soon--I realized they saved as .HEIC files instead of PNG or JPG, and someone is on a zoom call now, :P

    My Automated Liquid Chlorinator Build

Umm, what's with the novel??? I wanted to write out my story on putting together a very functional (thanks to all the folks here) automated liquid chlorinator for three reasons: (1) I'm proud of it, and I want to thank the folks who helped me; (2) to share the problems I experienced to help...

    Automated Liquid Chlorination system

@jonpcar, @GDN, @RonsPlc (and anyone else using a tank outside), does the tank require a breather hole of some kind? If all of the barrel plugs are sealed, but the pump is trying to suck water out, does it need to replace that space with air, or risk burning up the pump? I have two plugs in my...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

Yeah it was a lot of work, but that just makes the accomplishment so much sweeter. And it'll be well worth it! Truly appreciate all the help from everyone here--would never have happened with your support!!! I still have some tidying to do like finishing the edging, adding rocks, ensuring it...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

Thanks to all of you!! I'm almost done. Just got the Stenner on the wall and drilled a hole in the rubber stopper for the barrel. :) Next will tap into the plumbing and I'll be about ready to fill with chlorine and test! One more question: What is this used for? Is it needed? I don't see...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

So far it seems to be working fine. I'm going to toggle it on and off throughout the day, and also plug some different things into the outlet to see if that trips anything. Will keep you posted!

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

Gotcha. I read somewhere else someone recommending the SPST or DPST method as well, but I'd rather try moving the neutral wire if it's safe, because it's easier and doesn't require more parts. ? I'll give it a go on the morning. Thanks!

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

What is that neutral line used for on a 240V CB? I read online it's to complete a 120V circuit, but I don't know exactly the impact. Would that interfere with the pump needing a 240V circuit? I don't quite understand how circuit breakers work, TBH, so, sorry if that's a dumb question. I also...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

That went way over my head, lol. I'm not familiar with SPST relays, though I watched a video on it to try to understand. Didn't quite get it, other than allowing a "switch" to turn power on/off. Would this use the two Load wires from the Filter Pump relay to provide power to the relay (turning...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

No unfortunately not. I bought the 110v version, because I didn't have a need to do 220v. :( I'm sure returning the pump, especially since I've opened it would be costly. I'm hoping there's another way to solve the problem. Otherwise? I might just have to put a 110 breaker in and forget...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

Ugh. Not sure how to remedy that, but you're right--I only have 1 of the load lines form the breaker going to the outlet.

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

Makes sense. I'll try that next. ------------------------- I got it all hooked up like drawn up. Unfortunately, every time I turn on the AUX 5 relay, the 220 breaker trips. :( Thankfully, the pump works just fine when only the pump is on, so I can at least keep my pool running. Any thoughts...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

That's an excellent point. Shouldn't matter to have it on the same breaker as the main pool VSP, should it? And thanks so much for the help!

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

OK, I think I get it now. The first 220 break powers (1) Water feature pump (not VS); (2) Heater; (3) Spa Air Blower. That's why there are so many "Line" wires--all feeding off the same breaker. The second 220 break is the main pool pump, which is VS. It's wired directly. So, if I understand...

EasyTouch 8 (ET8, or even ET4) Wiring Help

I need help understanding how the EasyTouch8 is configured/meant to work. I figured this made sense to be in a new thread, so notifying @GDN or @bdavis466, since this is in relation to a post/diagram from them. Goal: To provide load to an available AUX relay ONLY when the mail pump is on...
