I'm assuming that your boiler is nowhere near the rating of the pool heater. It will be very different / take a look at long time to try to heat a pool with a residential boiler.

I would be inclined to loosely attach the flanges, then complete the rest of the piping, and then just tighten as necessary to stop any leaks. In the video above, it doesn't look like he's putting much force on a very short wrench.

Is the air purged out of the gas supply line? Is the switch on the gas valve on? Do you have flow through the heater?
