How do you remove a portion of a vinyl liner?

Is your water is low enough so you can "gather" a little of the liner, the lower the better. I use VERY CAREFULLY a heat gun just to soften the liner in a corner. Put your fingers down to water level and push gently in and up as if you were to want a make a wrinkle. The liner in the track...

    Poor liner installation fix

Liner lock is a good thing used anywhere, best if all around. Only fix for something under liner is to remove whatever it is. You know what's next to do that.

Removing vinyl liner and repairing skimmer wall

No need if you use new gaskets but would not hurt if you do use. Any silicone would work and helps to hold the inside one in place. You can put the inside one in place and tape till the silicone stiffens up, remove tape and all you need to do is line up the liner. Try and do same day as...

Removing vinyl liner and repairing skimmer wall

Easy enough, just as you described. The lower the water and the more liner you LIFT out of the track the easier it will be. You need to get a tight sandwich on new gaskets , one inside, one outside. You can even add a sealer if you want. Thinking you can pick up a piece of galvanized sheet...

Dang! I think I knocked several months off the life of my pool cover today.

Get a cover as mentioned and no need to move that heavy thing around. If you can bolt the reel to your deck and will make it much easier to use.

Pro's and Con's solar pool cover

A solar blanket without a roller is like a car without a motor, you will soon become to hate using it. I'm 40+ years into this pool game and have always had a blanket / roller / cover for it when off. 25 seconds off, 10 seconds on. No problem getting 7 + years from them. Off the pool to swim...

    Drained vinyl liner pool

By pulling a vacuum and you see no wrinkles or you do see, they are easy to now remove. IF you take the chance and fill with water and get wrinkles you might not be so luck to remove them.

Vinyl pool almost empty after winter

For sure as Texas said, walls need to be held OUT in place with water or wood construction. In worst case it can lift depending on the construction of the pool.

Sump well/ dry pit - when to drain?

For sure useful. I go 1 foot lower then the lowest depth of the pool. Even without piping or a crushed stone path to the sump, water will in time make its own "underground river" to it and will more useful then nothing. Keep a pump with a float switch in there full time so it will kick in and...

Sump well/ dry pit - when to drain?

Water will sink to the lowest it can especially in gravel. 3.5 feet is lower the 3 feet. 8 feet is much lower then a 3 foot deep sump. So it just makes sense that the gravel will need to be filled before any water will show in your 3 foot sump. Water of course will also sink into clay if you...

Sump well/ dry pit - when to drain?

Not sure if there is a nice way to say this but, you sump is useless. It would not even be good enough if all of your pool was 3.5' deep, sorry. Not knowing your backfill material etc i would say you have soft corners in the deep end and from bottom to sides ? Anyway, to answer your question...

My Tenant's Pool has a Leak

Here in the Windsor area it is $220 for a diver and a guy using the electronic sniffer. That is a flat rate and they will patch holes in the liner for that price. Before getting someone to do this you should first plug your returns and skimmer to pump lines. If the water still drops get...

Quotes for a new liner in central New Jersey

10 years is not very old for a liner. For a few 100 bucks you should be able to find a diver with an electronica buzz box and find / fix your liner. Better then a few thousand bucks.

Vinyl liner pulling away in corners

Your set up in not like that image. Bend over and look into the coping, you'll see the lip you have to go UP and over, all the way and across the full width, all at the same time. The greater the Down pressure after this is what will hold the liner in place. All the "liner lock" does when...

Vinyl liner pulling away in corners

That's going to be a tuff on the fingers fix. Hopefully the liner is "newish" and somewhat soft. Feel on the back of the liner and you will feel a hook in the hard upper part. That needs to be Lifted Above the "hook" in the coping, pushed back and dropped, on the way out the two hooks will...

Vinyl Tear - suggestions for repair

I would only add if it were me i would bring the water up close to the rip first and let the water warm up as the liner may want to drop back into the corner below water level. If you tape it now and IF what i think happens, it will tear apart your tape job.

    A slight "shock"

Wire mesh is Not put "in" or for your case "on" cement to be part of a Bond system. It is used to keep the cement from shifting when it cracks. The fact that it is used and it is metal it needs to be part of the Bond circuit. So all your mesh will do it sit there and be bonded just because it...

    Solar cover....one or two?

With the one reel i wonder how you just opened half the pool ? If you rolled up only half, did you then cover that half and the section hanging down to the water ? This can be why you only got 3 years from it. I have had my reel now for 41 years and a child can spin the blanket off the pool...

    botched replacement safety cover??
