Husband ready to tear down our pool! Help!

I'm in Jacksonville, Florida. It was only $80 to fill my 14667 gal pool. Works out to about $5.40 / 1000 gal. That is without sewer cost. That would have added roughly another $140 to my bill. Marnielee, I'm glad you're not "throwing in the pool towel" ! Hang in there! You're gonna LOVE it...

Husband ready to tear down our pool! Help!

I agree, but if it's not necessary to replace half, why would you do it? I just wondered if it would be a good idea to test it herself to get a more accurate reading. In a nut shell, if your not going to trust the lps test on one chemical, why would you trust their results on another? She's...

Husband ready to tear down our pool! Help!

Hi and welcome to the group! I'm fairly new too, put my pool up only a year ago. As I was reading all the advise on clearing up your pool and the truth that the LPS testing skills are questionable at best, I was wondering how accurate the CYA results are. I mean if all their other results are...

New Intex build...the good and the bad:)

Here's a link to one of my build pages. About 2/3 of the way down the page are pictures showing how to disconnect the copper bars. Just let the cord dangle. Somewhere else on the forum someone (can't remember who) shows how to completely remove the copper bars. I haven't tried that yet but I...

New Intex build...the good and the bad:)

Clambert is right. Get the TF 100. It has been my absolute best investment in my pool. My cya didnt dissolve as fast as Clamberts so, I personally would add chlorine first (wait for your pool to fill and the pump/filter to start up) then the other necessary chemicals. It could be protecting...

    Flying ants?

My neighbors have a lot of trees and I think they blow in / down from those. It seems to be heavy for a while then they go away. I went out one morning and they were all huddled up on the vacuum hose playing king of the hill trying to stay out of the salt water. They seem to have dwindled a...

    help!

I'm no expert, but I would not put my children in that till it was redone. Use step stones (recessed to be level with your newly leveled circle) under the feet and as it starts to fill, go around the pool helping the feet to skitter outward so they stay truly vertical. Then once the pool...

Adjusting bottom retention rope on Intex Pool??

As tatertot09 says, use the pavers. Put them in level with the ground. If you just set them on top of the dirt, the legs will be to high and it will put a lot of strain on the liner and the frame. As to your original question, the legs look fine, they will spread out some as you fill the...

My Walmart not carrying 182oz 6% any longer

My husband went to pick up some clorox bleach for me today for the pool. Turns out they have switched to a 121 oz bottle at 8.25 % strength. He asked them to check in the back for the 182oz 6% bottles and they said there was no point in looking as they were not going to carry them any longer.

    Kudos to my husband!

I have been out of town for over a month due to my mother being in the hospital. With very little instruction being required, my wonderful husband of 21 years maintained our pool. He would work all day then come home, clean and vacuum the pool and balance the chemicals. I came home to a pool...

intex pool first year on SWG, GREEN POOL! HELP!

When I set up my pool, I hooked up the pump and went ahead and set up the swg at the same time. I put in enough chlorine to reach the level I wanted. Then I added the salt, ran the pump alone for 24 hours. My salt level was 2/3 of where I wanted it. I then turned on the swg and ran it for abt...

    Soapy Backwash

Speaking as a "girlie girl" Would wrapping your hand held skimmer basket in cheese cloth (it's made of cotton and is absorbent) and scooping gently on the surface of the water remove this foam? Or wrapping the skimmer basket in the on the wall skimmer with cheese cloth. I know you can...

Frogabog, I lived in Bremerton WA for a year. I hear you about Seattle weather. I'm in Jacksonville FL and we get thunder storms here most days from June thru prob Sept. on up to the end of Nov. Hurricane season. The storms don't last too long usually. Cools us off a bit if it's late enough...

intex pool first year on SWG, GREEN POOL! HELP!

Frogabog, i remember as a kid, my mom would tell us to get out of the pool because it was starting to rain and we might get wet. My dad on the other hand used to make up excuses to go out into a torrential downpour. Never mind the lightning. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2

intex pool first year on SWG, GREEN POOL! HELP!

Is your pump / filter the one that came with your pool? Or is it one you bought separately? I ask because it is said that the ones that come with the intex pools are usually not strong enough to support very well the pools they are packaged with. Meaning, as GreatCanadian says, you may need...

intex pool first year on SWG, GREEN POOL! HELP!

If you put salt in, it's still there. Just need to figure out how much is there and if you are at your target level. For example, my pool holds 14667 gal of water, Intex recommends with their SWG that I put in enough salt to get to 3000ppm. TFP reccommends that I go beyond that by 200 - 400...

intex pool first year on SWG, GREEN POOL! HELP!

Your FC and CYA will depend on whether your doing bleach or salt water. I believe you said you were disconnecting the SWG for the rest of the year. Do you have salt in the pool? Are you going to run the SWG after all? Just trying to help get some of the needed info out there. Are you in the...
