    Circupool RJ VS. SI

Last year was my first winter with a swg. I ran it for 8 hours @ 50% until it stopped generating chlorine when I shut off the swg and still ran the pump for 4 hrs @1000 rpm just to keep water circulating and run the Polaris to keep the bottom clean. I sold the house the end of July. I hope the...

Time to purchase a new SWG. Anyone run the Breeze 540?

I'll assume, either system has an adjustable output, so I'd think you could assure there's not too much fc being being generated.

****, what did I do. Help!

Yup that was an hour I'll never get back. To find "some" of the info needed. When I first installed my swg, I too wondered why the instant salinity and other displayed numbers were 0. So I called cs and they told me it generated in 200 Minute cycles. If I was doing say 60%. It would generate 2...

Pentair Panel or AquaCheck strips: Which one do I believe

I think I read the ic40 is rated at 1.40 lbs of chlorine gas in 24 hrs at 100% I don't know right now if that will keep up with daily fc loss down there since only you can determine that from experience. I'll check it out a little later. Update: My spreadsheet says you might expect your swg to...

At what temp does SWCG become ineffective?

We installed ours in March and our water temp was 56-- the owners manual said 50 but it didn't generate until the temp was closer to 60.

    High salt reading

My circupool was reading extremely high-- in fact so high if should have shut it off--if never did. The cell was replaced by the seller and has been fine ever since.

New cell or whole new SWG?

Unfortunately, the listing isn't very comprehensive.I'm pretty sure they're manufactured in Australia, I looked at the Davey website and it's not them. Compupool isn't listed either.

New cell or whole new SWG?

Ok, I've run the numbers. An estimate of what FC you'll get with the si-60 for 4 hrs @100% is 1.65--not hardly enough to keep up with a 3 ppm FC loss you might anticipate. However 8hrs runtime should get you approx 3.30 increase-maybe or maybe not enough to keep up. But 12 hrs should give you...

New cell or whole new SWG?

I was under the impression that circupools max out at 2.0 lbs/ 24hrs, but I really haven't seen much about their 60 model except there's a replacement cell for it. My pool is only 24,000 gals stop the si- 45 is fine for me. But to keep up with daily loss during the hot months, I've run it as...

New cell or whole new SWG?

I installed my Circupool this spring and I couldn't be happier. Yes, I did have a few issues, but they were quickly and completely resolved. I fully trust their customer/ tech support.

Salt Water reading on Pentair Panel from SWG

I took a water sample to two different pool stores. Neither of them was within 800 ppm of what I found to be the correct number once I used my Taylor 1766 salt test kit. That has always been accurate with the swg panel.

Pentair Panel or AquaCheck strips: Which one do I believe

Running your cleaner shouldn't have any affect on chlorine generation whatsoever! Pool math says your goal should be 4-11 4 being the minimum. Your bright sun is likely using up your chlorine faster than your swg can generate it. Are you testing daily? It appears not. I have no idea what your...

Pentair Panel or AquaCheck strips: Which one do I believe

Your swg will tell you when you have a salt problem. It will stop generating chlorine. And I would assume give your some kind of indicator that it had stopped. I hear the aquacheck is the best of several test strips but nowhere near as accurate as the Taylor 1766 test kit. But, whatever test you...

Pentair Panel or AquaCheck strips: Which one do I believe

My point is you complain about your swg not keeping up with your fc requirements. First you thought you had a salt problem-- you didn't. Next you thought it was because your marginally low cya was the reason. The real reason why is you don't run your swg long enough to mfg the fc you need...

Pentair Panel or AquaCheck strips: Which one do I believe

So, you know how low an rpm you can use to keep your swg making chlorine. But you'd rather buy and lug bleach rather than run it longer? My Vs is allowing the chlorine to generate at 1000rpm but I can't run it for less than 12hrs to keep up.

    CircuPool Chlorine Generator

If I were you, and I was you, I'd give discount salt pools the opportunity to make it right as they said they would. After initial problems I had with my original si-45, after I requested a new cell because the salt levels were never correct. They quickly replaced it and it has been showing the...

    Green Monster

It turns from clear yellow to a milky salmon (sort of a pink) color it says red brick, but it's truly not that dark. If you go beyond that, it doesn't change anymore and you're just wasting reagent. There's a you tube video of performing the test. I'll try to find a link to it for you...

    Green Monster

You've got a bigger problem than cleaning the cell will fix. I'd trust your Taylor kit over anything else. But what I don't understand was the 1000 lbs of salt in addition to what was already in your pool? Did you do a Taylor test prior to adding that salt? If so, what did it tell you it was to...

    Calculating FC from SWG output

Thanks, was just wondering. That said, how can the IC 60 be rated for up to 60000 gal pools if the chlorine production is only 2lb/ 24 hr day? I guess technically, 4ppm every 24 hrs is sufficient?

    Calculating FC from SWG output

Does anyone make a swg that outputs over 2lbs in a 24hr period? Compupool says theirs is 2.5, but I've not heard of anyone getting that kind of production. Even IC 60s are rated at 2.0 lbs/day

SWG too high after slamming! Help

The bigger question is if your swg is still generating chlorine then you're probably ok. My cell was saying my Salt level was 6200 and it was still generating. (It's supposed to stop at 5500). The cell has been replaced, and now it shows a a more respectable 3900.

    Calculating FC from SWG output

My circupool is rated at 2lbs which I've found to be pretty accurate I've developed a excel spreadsheet to determine approximately how much FC will be generated for 1-100 percent based on number of hours running time. Anyone interested in getting a copy of it just pm me with your email addy and...

SWG has been ordered...what is my next step?

I put all but 2 bags in my pool three days before I was going to install my SWG. I was ready to turn it on when installed. Make sure you do the current salinity level test before doing the calculation. Unfortunately, I had relied on a pool store test to give me mine Overshot my projected level...

SWG Percentage vs Pump run time???

I didn't find it in the manual--I got that info directly from Discount salt Pools after I was noticing it stopped generating after a while so I called them to find out why. I tested it using the procedure I explained before and sure enough that was exactly the way it worked. If you manually...

SWG Percentage vs Pump run time???

From the sellers- I've checked it out, that's right on the number. Easy enough to find out for yourself. All you have to do is take the 200 times your percentage. Then , go out a few minutes earlier than when the generation light will go off. Say you're running 50% So it will generate for 100...

SWG Percentage vs Pump run time???

Well, that sorta depends on your make of SWG. Mine runs in 200 minutes cycles as long as there's sufficient flow--The pump is running! So, if mine is set to run for 12 hrs @ 80%, its not generating for 576 minutes-- 80% of 12 hrs but for 600 minutes. That's because Its generating for 160 minutes...
