Acid pump options - DIY - Stenner - or? (settled on Pentair Acid Tank w/Pump)

Power Supply: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CLCJA6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As for scheduling there's no reason to have it run every hour. I run mine once per day

Acid pump options - DIY - Stenner - or? (settled on Pentair Acid Tank w/Pump)

I wouldn't buy a Pentair controller but instead just get a cheap power supply off Amazon and run the pump off a relay. Then you basically turn the iph into a Stenner style pump that is way more reliable

    Goldline Aquarite and EasyTouch Questions

I have a t-cell controlled by pentair panel as we speak and it works fine. The cells output percentage is something that you will need to change frequently based on the amount of sun and use your pool get. By having it hooked to the panel the cell will never be on when the pump isn't running...

    Goldline Aquarite and EasyTouch Questions

The Easytouch can actually control the Aquarite. A replacement T-cell is less than half the cost of an IC40 and transformer. Here's the wiring diagram:

    IntelliPh control box down.

I would have done that if I had a SWG transformer. The relays are pretty inefficient and you might get too much voltage drop. Give it a try and test it with a meter to confirm.

Why does the SWG not work in cold water?

Correct, only when the cell is generating. Cold water flowing through the cell will not cause any harm. That's why the cells are designed to protect themselves by not generating at lower temperatures.

Why does the SWG not work in cold water?

Colder water means less conductivity. Running the cell in colder water won't produce chlorine efficiently and can actually damage the plates inside the cell.

Freezing point of salt water pool, is it slightly lower?

I believe the Ocean freezes at 28 Degrees and it has 10x the salinity of a salt water pool...any difference in the freezing temperature probably wouldn't even be measurable in your pool.

    IC60 cold water stop

Just let it ride Gary. The sun will be out Friday and I'm sure next week will be in the 90's. The chlorine demand should be next to nothing anyway.

    Aquarite/Hayward to Pentair Intellichlor

The thud is common and I think most of the noise comes from the front metal cover plate in the box. Try putting some rubber bumpers in there to deaden the sound. Are you controlling the AquaRite remotely from the EasyTouch? I ask because if you're not, its simple to do and whole lot less...

EasyTouch output for DIY acid pump

Not a bad idea at all. Set up a relay that gets powered off the filter pump relay then schedule it to run during the pool filtration schedule. The only limiting factor is the Easytouch scheduling can only be as precise as 1 minute but that shouldn't be an issue. I have this exact setup for my...

IntelliChlor Flow and Temperature Sensor FAILED

I think the locals have really grown to like my unique style and they sure do get silly when I do my signature triple reverse double jackhammer thunder clap⚡ Maybe I can incorporate a thermistor into my routine... the hotter it gets, the more salt water I produce!

IntelliChlor Flow and Temperature Sensor FAILED

I fixed my cell with a used rectal thermometer from a local urgent care... money is tight in the Davis household. Maybe grease up the old flow switch with some CBD palm oil?

IC60 Pentair SWG (Turned off and on by itself, basically rebooted)

Jim, it was the IC60s hooked to the IntelliPH's that were having the issues. There was no fix, the cells were replaced

    SWG and Limestone Waterfall

Limestone is known to have large portions of it comprised of organic matter. If anything is degrading the stone it's the chlorine. It would also make sense why some of the limestone is having issues and other pieces are not. Most mortars do not hold up well in wet/dry and submerged situations...

    Explosion near the SWG

This exact thing happened to my neighbor's pool. Similar to yours, his swg was receiving constant power and for whatever reason the flow switch made contact and powered up the cell

    Fine Tuning an SWG

Yes the T-Cells can be controlled by Pentair automation. You need to run a 4 wire conductor from the comm port in the panel to the comm port in the Hayward box. Here's the wiring diagram:

    IntellipH Manual Dosing

I'm not certain but I don't think the manual was updated since the pump heads were changed. I imagine that's why your's dosed 5 oz instead of the stated 4 oz. I've had both heads on my IPH and the newer style definitely flows better.
  27. bdavis466

    IntellipH Manual Dosing

The IPH works just like the SWGs do. Adjusting the percentage adjusts the run time of the acid pump each hour that the SWG is scheduled to run. If you have the IPH set to 100% it should run about 30 seconds and dose a little over 2oz each hour the pump/SWG is scheduled to run. Say you run your...

    Pool Equipment Remodel

Welcome! (y) If it is possible to adjust the order then I would recommend doing so. ORP based systems continue to be problematic. The appeal of a pool that runs itself is very alluring but economical and reliable equipment just isn't there yet. Truth be told, if you utilize the test and...
