New tosite but loving it! Need your advice on 26' intex

I think that any damage or missing parts that you discover during the setup process should be covered by the warranty. WM is also really pretty good about returns and I would think that even if you you returned it all to them in an open box, they would still give you credit most likely. I had...

Re: 16 x 32 intex rectangular pool leveling ground without s Welcome to TFP! Heck yes those boys better help you, or do it for you completely! Leveling is the most important step to get things right when setting up an AGP. You cannot be off more than 1". The Bobcat would be perfect. If you...

Help! First pool, not going so well

That will work as it will allow you to loosen stuff up and move it easier. Just be sure that the area gets compacted well before setting it up.

Help! First pool, not going so well

Welcome to TFP! Intex pools are real pools and require the same maintenance as a Doughboy 27-foot ABG pool. The fact that it is out of level is a problem. If it is more than 1 inch out of level, you need to start over. And remember, always dig down to level rather than build up. Baquacil is...

Hello TFP! Starting our first little pool project...

Yep, diazinon is banned. Was thinking about Sevin. Sevin is great for those big red harvester ants.

    Need help deciding

Having it professionally installed is a good idea if you aren't much of a DIYer. Also, with above ground pools, it is very important to level the ground well before installation. This can be a lot of physical work. I would take these things into account.

NOOB Pool and deck almost complete.***DONE***FREE PIZZA*****

Re: NOOB Pool Not Level. What should I do? If it was an inch out of level, I'd say that you're okay. That looks beyond what would be okay to me. That looks like a good 7 inches to me. I think that you're going to have to drain and re-level.

New Intex Filter for Standard AGP Issue

Welcome to TFP! An adapter would probably be better but if you can't find one, aluminum is easy enough to work with. Let's see what some of our other Intex users have to say.

Iron/Rust in water while filling Intex ultra 18'

You will need to add a metal sequestrant to hold the iron in the water so that it won't deposit itself on the surfaces of your pool. Here's some information about doing that. pool-school/metal%20stains Your sand filter won't make a difference in the iron levels.

New Here, Introduction, First Chemical Questions

Welcome to TFP! Purchase a high quality test kit from tftestkits.net. The TF-100 is the best with the Taylor kit running a distant second. Then, read Pool School. Your pH may be low. We recommend 7.2 to 7.8. You also need CYA, enough to get you to 30. After adding CYA, add enough bleach...

    Assistance Please

When you say "off the shelf shock", what do you mean? What are the active ingredients?
  22. 257WbyMag

    Assistance Please

Assuming that you have a CYA of 0 ppm, I would suggest adding enough CYA to get you to 30. Don't recheck your CYA for a week after adding it. It takes a while for the CYA to dissolve. FYI, for a CYA level of 30, your shock level is 12 ppm FC. :goodjob:

Re: Found a listing for used doughboy - what do you guys thi Doughboy makes a quality product. Just be watchful of corrosion to metal surfaces. You WILL need a new liner no matter what. That's a given. What are they asking?

    My pool thus far!!

Some places add copper into the mix because it inhibits the growth of algae to a degree. You'll find copper in almost all mineral systems and in chlorination tablets that are made by HTH/Pace. Here at TFP though, we know the damage that copper can do and we also know how to avoid algae without...
