You should be able to save it, if you re-install it within a few days. While rolled up, it gets hot and starts decomposing. Might be able to lay it down flat somewhere to keep it alive a bit longer. (I have never done this myself)

How about making it only half as wide, half as tall & pushing it as far back as possible, and covering it with large flat stones. Like the ones you have on the side. To look just like the stepping stones you already have. That way it would look less like a bridge, but more like natural stepping...

The bottles go to the recycle, but I do save the caps! I make pretty good Memory Games. Two identical items get glued under 2 caps. When I have about 50 or so, the game is large enough to give away & I'm ready to start a new one. Already made several games.
