So, it has been a week and my chlorine level is still pretty low. Does it take a while since this is really like setting up a new pool? Just want to make sure I am not missing something.

pH is now 7.8. No Borax ever added. Should I attempt to lower TA?

New liner, new sand. pH is a little low. Historically, I deal with high pH, lots of wind here so water surface almost always rippling. Yesterday was first water sample. pH = 7.2, this morning 7.4 without adding Borax. Do I wait a few days or add Borax anyway?

Oh, and also, I leave my ladder in because it is screwed to the deck. Is this a problem for algae growth as well? Should it be removed daily?

My liner is older and faded. The bottom is almost completely white. Does this have any affect on algae growth? I seem to have a lot of trouble keeping algae out of my pool.

All of my app test results should be available. I just have not entered my maintenance like I should.

I have only .5ppm of FC when testing

Ok, so my pool is clear. I test each evening and I only have .5ppm of FC, 0 CC, pH is up to 7.7. I am adding required chlorine. Should my FC stay higher than this or is this amount of loss normal?

Well, 1.0 loss exactly. I guess I'll quit slamming and look for some DE.

I have not done the DE process as I cannot find the DE. I have been backwashing with even a slight change in pressure. I will try the OCLT tonight. Thanks.

Been SLAM'ing since March 22. My water is beautiful blue and almost perfectly clear. I can see the pattern of my liner on the bottom, but there is still a little haze to the water. I have not performed the OCLT test yet as I am not sure how clear the water needs to be. Looking for advice, please.
