    Phosphates & Shocking the water with a fiberglass pool?

    Teeseee 150...could you describe the burn stains a little more. is it possible you have metal stains?? Fiberglass will show metal stains very easily especially if the ph is kept high. A picture would help if not try to explain the burn marks in detail. Also what is the hot tub made of??

    After testing, what do you do with your reageants?

    Craig...Sounds like you are doing fine. I dump it down the drain if I check inside and run enough water to push it through the sink trap. If outside I just dump it over the fence in the grass and wash out the tester in the pool water. :)

    teppy... I shock in the spring and about a week before I close the pool. As long as your CC is at .5 or below there is no need to shock as a maintenance procedure. :-D

    Best Way To Test Chlorine Daily

    MisterMister... You are doing the right thing by testing daily you will learn your pool much faster and see exactly what your pool is doing. I test every day (ph&cl) It is the best way to see what is going on and to be able to correct it quickly. :)

    I have a fiberglass pool and I have never had concern about testing the CH. I am doing my pool opening adjustments and the CH is about 75. The question is do you think I should increase the CH to about 150 or is it still thought the vinyl and fiberglass don't need it? Thanks Ric W.
