Hi- I am concerned about accurately reading the the pH results on my K1000 test kit. The lower levels of pH listed (6.8 and 7.2) show that the tested water should be an organge-ish color, approaching yellow. My water just gets light pink, without a hint of orange or yellow. Is that normal...

Since i just added more CYA yesterday, should I check level again later today and add more per PoolMath if needed? Am I aiming to get it to 30? Also, do I keep adding bleach as needed to maintain 5ppm (in other words, I don't need to keep SLAMming it, right?)?

Ok. And when buying CYA what do I ask for? Should I get it from the Pool store or hardware store or online?

How do you add CYA? I’m having the same problem as above.

Sorry Dave, I know you want to stop before getting in trouble, but.... help me understand. My CYA seems to be low (~20) even though I'm using BriteStix as well as bleach. What should I better understand about how CYA and chlorine interact?

Pool store people couldn't figure it out either. We are on chlorine now and the smell is gone and the water crystal clear!

Hi- quick question. when i use the test kit to test for chlorine the directions tell me to add drops until the water turns clear. Does clear mean not pink anymore or clear like crystal clear? Thanks!
