Where did you find replacement reagents on Ontario? I had to order mine from the US, through Amazon.ca.

    Needing some POP

So I finally got my resupply and topped up my CYA, raised the TA (tested 60 today?) and CH. My question, should I have waited til the FC drifted down before adding CYA? Was at 9.5 this afternoon. Haven't turned on SWG yet, but fired up the heater.

    First Test Results. No CYA?

SWG off until SLAM complete and pump running on high.

    Needing some POP

Passed the OCLT with flying colors! Tested at 10pm, FC of 15 (added LC at 830pm, stirred) FC at 15 this morning with no CC. Should I do a final backwash tonight maybe? Pressure is maybe 10% over normal. Not the best pic (should've turned pump off), but it's clear! Yes, that is reading...

    Needing some POP

Waiting for more reagents, so can't afford a 25 ml test ;) Being in Canada sucks, takes forever to get Taylor stuff... and costly. I have been vacuuming with the same hose, do you mean vacuuming when FC is highest (a bit after dosing)?

    Needing some POP

Maybe a bit cloudy still... but I think I passed OCLT. Was at 11 FC, added 1.3 Liters of LC. This morning's test was 17 FC.... still bit of CC though.

    Needing some POP

Yeah, I am over slamming because I haven't had time to babysit, so overdosing to make sure I am covered. Looking almost fully clear today, will test this evening and hopefully get a backwash in tomorrow.

    Needing some POP

I guess I should be in POP mode, but it's been almost 3 days, I've stayed well above my SLAM level of 12ppm, vacuumed and brushed twice and I am still cloudy. It was a crazy swamp to start though. Didn't bother tesring CH.

All the tests all the time?

Thanks, sorry! I guess I have excessively studied some areas of Pool School and neglected other simple ones

All the tests all the time?

I am sure this has been discussed, so apologies if this a dead-horse topic. Given the size of my pool, and not very high bather loads, how often should I test? Is it feasible to just run the FC/CC test and CYA test more frequently? How much does TA/PH and CH shift around in a vinyl, well...

Recent CPO class/ pool maintenace debacle/Clorox now 6.0% sodium hypo

I'm a newb to TFP, but have some knowledge in business models. As a weekly maintenance, no way. I'm on my 3rd round of proper testing, and I'm barely gaining any time. It takes a good 20-30 minutes still to every test (usually have to do one retest for something) including salt, I am sure...

    Chemical sources Canada

I 2nd Crappy Tire, got my 10.25% LC on sale for $4.99 for 5L, so cheapest source of LC. I have a SWG, so I bought 3 and that should hopefully last me all season + if I don't have to SLAM. I think I paid around $10 for 900g of CYA there also, seemed cheaper than the 2nd round of CYA I bought...

    Calcium hardness& heat pump

my CH was definitely lower than 60, but I dosed it with the recommended amount of calcium chloride to get to 150 ppm, will be testing again tonight. I did notice a bit of what looked like foaming when I pulled the cover off, but that looked more like are bubbles than foam as it would dissipate...

Just received Taylor K2006 test kit yesterday

This reminds me of a question I wanted to ask. Particularly for the CC test, how clear is clear when adding reagents? I find myself sometimes adding "one more drop" because I still see a tiny hint of colour. Should the sample be water clear, or when the majority colour shift happens? Never...

Just received Taylor K2006 test kit yesterday

I did my first one last night, it seems daunting, but the instructions on the lid of the box are clear. The toughest part was filling the tubes to the right mark and swirling enough... that would be my advice for a first timer, swirl swirl swirl... I think I may have messed up a test because...

What about salt cells, does low CH damage them?
