    Spa jet Nozzle

Welcome to TFP! So, let me make sure that I am understanding correctly. You don't have anything to "grab" on to to unscrew the broken one right? One thing that you can try is finding something that you can put into it that will grip it from the inside and allow you to unscrew it. Something...

Possible cause for green water and rash

Welcome to TFP! If you have a bacterial dermatitis, copper isn't the problem. Low FC levels however, might be.

Just received my TF100 and have a couple questions

Well, aside from the FC being high in relation to your CYA, it all looks good.

Ok, this must be Rocket Science.....HELP!!!

Welcome to TFP! The Nature 2 adds metals to your water. There is no chlorine with the Nature 2. What happened was that you probably waited too long to add chlorine and ended up with algae. If you would post a set of test results to include FC, CC, CYA, pH, TA, and CH, we can help you figure...

    Bacteria problem

According to The Pool Calculator and using a capacity of 317 gallons (1200 liters), adding 66 oz. of 6% bleach will get your tub to chem geek's suggested level of 100 ppm FC. Do that and then check for chlorine loss. You may have to keep the FC up for some time.

    testing Alkalinity

I'm not familiar with the Palintest kit but I am going to bump your thread here just to see if anyone else can offer a suggestion.

3 of 4 jet sets not working

Have you had a service tech look at it? I don't know much about spas but since you have had this problem from the start, it makes me wonder if it isn't something the installer or manufacturer could remedy somehow.

Green/yellow slime growing under spa cover!

It sounds like you have done the best thing to handle it. I would even go further to suggest that you take a spray bottle, add a bleach solution to it (10% should be good), and go ahead and mist the underside of the cover once again. Then, I would maybe take it off the spa and let the...

Trying to figure out how to shut off waterfall

No problem. You aren't going to hurt anything by turning valves. The three valves coming out of the ground and going into the pump is water coming from the pool to the pump. To control the flow to the water fall, you will need to manipulate valves that are taking water from the pump to the...

Welcome to TFP! Have you tried turning the valve in the front there?

bromine spa in SWG chlorine pool

Welcome to TFP! Looks like you have gotten some good advice thus far. :goodjob:

    Alternatives

Your choices are basically chlorine or bromine and since you didn't have problems with the bromine, you may be stuck with that, even though it's smelly. Overall though, I would suspect that this has more to do with eczema and water temperature and less to do with the chemicals in the water.

Newbie swim spa owners needs help with proper chemicals

Welcome to TFP! Spas require water balance and sanitation quite similar to pools. The best place to start would be to familiarize yourself with some basic pool chemistry by reading Pool School (link on the top right of every page). The chemicals that you will use in spas are the same as you...

    Skin breaking out

You probably know the answer here, but I'll go ahead and say it. If you have not kept up with your chemistry as well as you needed to, then there really is no way of knowing whether your tub is clean or not. I suspect dirty water first and everything else second.

    Getting chemicals just right

Since bleach has no CYA, it will not increase the CYA. CYA can decrease over time with water change outs. Bleach will not affect the CH either but what will affect the CH is the fill water. Some fill water is pretty hard and that will raise the CH over time.

    Getting chemicals just right

Probably a combination of the tablet and going a little overboard on the MA. You can aerate to raise the pH and you might also consider the addition of a little borax as well. The pH needs to be between 7.2 and 7.8.

    Purple line in spa

Welcome to TFP! Not really sure. Does the line wipe away easily or is it more of a stain? Do you have any test results?

Using RO water to fill spa

Not really sure what you mean by "RO water". Typically, reverse osmosis removes dissolved substances that are in the water and then the water, now free of these materials, is returned to the pool that it came from. So the RO water virtually has far lower dissolved solids than before and this...

    filter cleaner?

Filter cartridges are best cleaned by hand with a hose. I don't think that you would accomplish much by putting it in the dishwasher and you might even damage it. Let it soak for a while in water with TSP or dishwasher detergent and then take it out and hose it out real well.

    filter cleaner?

What type of filter are you wanting to clean? Is it a cartridge filter for your spa or is it the filter for your pool? For cleaning a cartridge filter, we recommend using dishwasher soap or trisodium phosphate (TSP). Below is a link to a thread describing that process...

    Diabetes/health benefit?

80 mg/dl on your blood sugar is not hypoglycemia. Increasing the temperature of the body does increase metabolism and this burns more blood sugar, but 80 is not low. Low is 69 or below. Sitting in warm water though does cause vasodilatation which lowers blood pressure and makes you feel weak.

Animal is chewing a hole in my cover!

The only animals that I can think of that would do this are mice or rats. Squirrels are chewers on certain things but I don't think that your cover would interest them as it doesn't taste like an acorn. Have you seen any evidence of them other than the chewed area on your cover? How about...

Clorox Vs Cheap brand of bleach

I think that I pay $2.54 for the 182 oz. jug at Wal-Mart too. That's a good price. BTW, I loves me some HEB! Wish they would come up to DFW. We had those when I lived in Austin. They have a great beef brisket that you can't beat for a heat-and-eat.

Clorox Vs Cheap brand of bleach

I do get Clorox at Costco sometimes as it ends up being cheaper than Wal-Mart and I do notice a slight bit of difference in the amount of acid that I have to use when changing between the Great Value and the Clorox. Now I understand why. Thanks!

    Seasonal Temperature/Use?

A family member with a spa down here in Texas where it gets plenty hot in the summertime tells me that she keeps the temperature turned down in the summer. It only takes a couple of hours or so to get it up to 99-100 with the cover on irregardless of the time of year. Mostly though, since she...
