Ditto what jblizzle said. I get a large bubble showing while running my pump on low speed but it will disappear when I run on high speed and even faster when I bleed the air from the top of my cartridge filter. It will come back in short time, though, while running at low speed.

Ditto on the flying ants. Use a hair net in the skimmer. I pulled and cleaned my cartridge filter the other day and did not see one bug (unless they were already mush).

Depending on what you buy you might see whether the warranty is worth spending the extra money for installation and extra cost above savings buying online, if applicable. Some warranties are basically useless and you pay all shipping costs, etc. Again, you have to look at what you are buying...

Sorry for the late reply. I've been out of pocket. Just keep the screwdriver (or something flat like a scraper) level with the gap and rock it up and down.

If you do use a screwdriver or flat blade don't stick in the screwdriver perpendicular to the filter top. Try to get it in almost tangentially so that more blade is in a gap, if possible. Then just gently rock the screwdriver and move it to different locations.

I removed the filter cartridge from mine and the core came out with it. I then removed it from the core with the help of another person (it was tight) and placed the core back in the cylinder - be sure to align it correctly if this happens. This was before I ever installed the filter system...
