How do I get the air out from my new filter and pump?

Ditto what jblizzle said. I get a large bubble showing while running my pump on low speed but it will disappear when I run on high speed and even faster when I bleed the air from the top of my cartridge filter. It will come back in short time, though, while running at low speed.

    Pesky flying ants

Ditto on the flying ants. Use a hair net in the skimmer. I pulled and cleaned my cartridge filter the other day and did not see one bug (unless they were already mush).

Hair Net Removing A Lot of Bugs

I started using hair nets over my skimmer basket a while back and I am amazed at the number of little critters I see caught there. I have yet to clean my cartridge filter so I wonder how many bugs are in there. This is mainly flying ants but a pretty good variety of other bugs also. This is...

Rubber washer on pump shaft - is seal failing?

Great. Thanks for that information. One less thing to worry about. I wish they included that in the parts diagram in the manual. Thanks again.

Rubber washer on pump shaft - is seal failing?

Yesterday I noticed what appears to be a rubber washer spinning around on the shaft of my pool pump between the motor and the impeller housing. Is this normal? I don't know why that would be there unless something is loose in a seal. There is no water dripping but I would like to go ahead and...

Seeking Recommendations: Best Place to Buy New Pump, Filter, etc.

Depending on what you buy you might see whether the warranty is worth spending the extra money for installation and extra cost above savings buying online, if applicable. Some warranties are basically useless and you pay all shipping costs, etc. Again, you have to look at what you are buying...

    Pentair top canister stuck

Sorry for the late reply. I've been out of pocket. Just keep the screwdriver (or something flat like a scraper) level with the gap and rock it up and down.

    Pentair top canister stuck

If you do use a screwdriver or flat blade don't stick in the screwdriver perpendicular to the filter top. Try to get it in almost tangentially so that more blade is in a gap, if possible. Then just gently rock the screwdriver and move it to different locations.

    Pentair top canister stuck

I have a new Pentair CC200 and the top is very difficult to remove. I had to stick a screwdriver, or some flat bladed object, in the gap and wedge very gently to get it started. I removed the lid before I installed just to see what was in there and it was a chore. I removed it again after...

    cc150 filter stuck on core

I removed the filter cartridge from mine and the core came out with it. I then removed it from the core with the help of another person (it was tight) and placed the core back in the cylinder - be sure to align it correctly if this happens. This was before I ever installed the filter system...

What to use to clean PVC Threads and O'ring Face Seals

I have used an old toothbrush and it worked pretty well.

    DE Added to Cartridge Filter

Thanks for the responses. I thought it looked kind of strange since I had not heard of that done - I have seen people recommending DE in sand filters.

    DE Added to Cartridge Filter

My pool is not installed yet but I have bought and received my Pentair Clean and Clear 200 cartridge filter. I was reading through the instruction manual and noticed this passage: "When the cartridge element filter is used on new pools and after cleaning the elements, introduce into the system...

Is 55' too far from agp for pump?

Thanks. I hoped I could put it by the garage so the GFCI and timer would be inside and the electrical for the pump a short run.

Is 55' too far from agp for pump?

I have bought an above ground Doughboy 24'x52" Autumn Breeze pool and it will be installed starting March 27. One thing I keep flip flopping on is the placement of the pool equipment. I would like to put the equipment next to my detached garage and run 2" PVC plumbing to the pool. It looks...
