Circupool Smart Flow 1.5 Variable Speed Pump

Hello, I just upgraded and installed this pump. It seems fantastic and I can't believe how quiet it is and according to the Watt meter it is only using 67 Watts per hour. My question is: Is there any problem with just running the pump on the lowest setting for 24 hours a day. It should turn...

    PVC Socket Saver Really Work?

I own that tool and it works very well. You will notice a looser fit than brand new, but with glue it seals up good as new. If you can remove the old fitting with heat you should have an even better fit.

Take water out of pool and bypass the filter?

Okay thanks for the definitive answer. I ended up siphoning with the hose because I wanted to lower the level ASAP, the only tip I have is if you use the return jet to fill the hose it makes starting the siphon process easy. But next time, now I know all have to do is use waste and pump it...

Take water out of pool and bypass the filter?

Thanks for the diagram it looks like on the sand filter it goes directly through to the exit pipe and does not take any water from the top of the filter, but is anyone sure???? In the meantime I have been siphoning water at a rate of about 3/4 of inch every 3 hours.

Take water out of pool and bypass the filter?

Hi, I just added CYA though socks in my filter basket about 5 days ago. It rained and I want to pump down the pool about 3". Is there a way to bypass the filter and pump out water. I think a lot of my CYA is in the filter now and I want to keep it in there and make sure it does not get...

    low pump run time

JB, What is your pump run time for your SWG? I only have 3K more gallons of water than you. I see your cell produces about 1.40 lbs of CL a day, and my unit does 1.28 lbs. a day (running 24 hrs.) I'm in the process of putting in a 1hp pump motor and getting rid of my tired 2HP. Thanks

    Hayward Tristar Motor Replacement

Thanks again James! I ordered all the parts, hopefully the install goes smooth. So the bottom line if the new pump runs twice as long and I still going to be saving money?

    Hayward Tristar Motor Replacement

I'm leaning towards the cheaper option. New motor single speed. The names I'm seeing are Century, AO Smith, and US motors/ Emerson. I'm concerned the 1HP might cause dead spots leading to algae and could take noticeably longer to shock the pool. If this is not the case I'm leaning towards...

    Hayward Tristar Motor Replacement

Thanks for the help. The motor is a square flange mount. I have been reading through pool school and found that my pump is most likely oversized BIG time. I was reading and thinking a .5HP to 1.5 variable speed or 2 speed 220V would be great (or something close to this) I find that I have...

    Hayward Tristar Motor Replacement

Hello, I have a Tristar SP3215X20 pump, and I would like to replace the worn 10 year old Emerson 2HP Motor. I can't read the model on the motor because it is worn off. I would like a motor that is quieter if possible. I'm not sure what brand is recommended or if 2HP is needed, or if I should...

Air Bubbles coming out of skimmer pipe

Update. I got home from work and took another look at the skimmers. The bubbles are created from water coming over the flapper gate. With the baskets removed a few bubbles are created on top and some of them are being sucked down the pipe. With the basket in the bubbles get popped on the way...

Air Bubbles coming out of skimmer pipe

The main drain and skimmers tie in together at the valves next to the pump. So if all the valves are open I guess you could say they were tied together. I don't think that I am losing any water. I just opened the pool Saturday, I'm not having any problems related to the bubbles. They are...

Air Bubbles coming out of skimmer pipe

This is with the pump running. Seems impossible to me too. There are no bubbles on the site / lid of the pump and no signs of any drips or water around the pump and valves. Anything else to look for?

Air Bubbles coming out of skimmer pipe

When I look down into both skimmers with the baskets removed I see air bubbles coming out of the pipe that connects to the bottom of both skimmers. I read through pool school dealing with leaks and tried a few of the tips and I cannot locate the air leak. It is just a small amount of bubbles...

PVC Ball valve wing handles breaking

Good News! "Once in while the blind squirrel finds that nut." I contacted the manufacturer and the handle is replaceable. Just use a screwdriver to break off the glued on cap then remove the phillips head screw and the handle will pull straight off. I tested it and it is true. My valves...

PVC Ball valve wing handles breaking

This sucks! I have 6 of these valves, and don't have $300 for jandy valves. So it looks like I'm replumbing these. I heard about UV rays giving you cancer, but nothing about headaches!
