Has anyone acid stained their concrete pool deck?

Looking to add some color around the pool area. We should have done this when pouring the deck a few years ago but here we are. Received a quote for about $2800 to do approx 700sq/ft of decking. Don't love the price but it is what it is. I am little concerned about how well the color will hold...

Hi everyone, Almost to the end of our build and things have been going well until we realized that one of our pool lights were not properly connected before backfill and concrete patio was poured. Pool Losing water!! Please help

In the process of building pool and water was delivered two days ago. Today I noticed the pool had dropped several inches. My builder comes by and I start filling by hose, thinking nothing of it. Another worker comes by and he notices the water is leaking out through the hole where the pool...

Trouble with new concrete patio. Is this an easy fix?

Yes. I told him I didn't feel comfortable signing the release until I could confidently sign off on the release of funds. Which included him fixing the chip, cleaning the coping and any surrounding concrete left over. The biggest issue was the discrepancy in sq. ft, almost 200 sq. ft. After I...

Trouble with new concrete patio. Is this an easy fix?

Spoke with the subcontractor today and he says he will fix it and still has to clean up the coping and surrounding area. I've noticed that I have a few rough spots on the patio which he claims will wear down as we start walking on them. He says it is the fiberglass mesh mixed within the...

Trouble with new concrete patio. Is this an easy fix?

Hi everyone, In the middle of the pool build and Tuesday they poured concrete. Typical concrete pour with nothing fancy. Everything looked great from afar, even told my PB so but today, on closer inspection I notice a few issues near the coping. A few rough areas and chipped out pieces in some...

Use my pool company's subcontractors or hire my own?

Time is definitely a factor and I can't imagine the headaches chasing people down with all of the crazy weather we get in Michigan.

Use my pool company's subcontractors or hire my own?

Wanted to get thoughts on what others have done during construction. Basically it comes down to using my pool company's subcontractors and have them deal with the headaches of organizing, scheduling, etc. and pay a premium price for their services or find them myself and try to get everyone...

Are main drains required or even necessary?

Hi everyone, Excavation started last week and the pool is starting to take shape. Excited how fast everything is moving and just passed inspection on the footings and backfill. Anyways, had a neighbor stop by and showed him around. He owns a pool and asked why we didn't have a main drain in...

Went to Order 16x32 Rectangular Pool and this happened...

We are in the process of getting our pool built, same size, and we too had the dilemma of sports pool or a deep end. We eventually chose having a deep end. There was no additional cost from one to another.

    Coping Question

Hi everyone, We have plans for a 16x32 SW pool to be installed in the spring. Our original quote calls for basic aluminum coping around the pool area with roughly 820 sq. ft of brushed concrete surrounding the pool (12*4*4*6). To add a decorative look, we wanted to do 2' of a stamped & darker...

Well its finally happening, pool contract signed and deposit paid.

Congratulations! I am going through a similar experience. May I ask why you chose Aquaholics after all consideration? What made them stand out above others? I am having a difficult time pulling the trigger, waiting for the perfect contractor that may not come. Do you have any suggestions on...

    New Build Questions

Thank you for your response. Pool depth.... That is something else we need to consider. All contractors told us it will have no impact on cost. I like the idea of a deep end but the party pool option with a 5-6' deep area in the middle is something to consider. No diving board though.
