    New build- Baytown, TX

its been awhile since I did any update. My salinity reading for the last week or 2 has been going crazy. I cleaned the trisensor and it didn't really help. Tried looking online just to buy it and replace it myself but couldn't find the exact one I had. After calling jandy they said I should talk...

I heard if you add a spa you might as well tack on 10k to the total. I live in baytown and we do not have a spa or heater. I would for sure get a SWG though. You do not want the burden of having to pour bleach everyday. I got my pool almost 2 years ago for around 43-44k. That included the...

Starting new pool build in AZ

We didn't get any automation and its been good with us. Of course its a new pool and we haven't enjoyed a summer with it yet. Our VSP came with its own controller to use. The SWG has a mechanical timer to say when to run. To run our waterfall its just a walk to equipment pad to turn the 3 way...

Not too much to update. Bringing my TA down from 90 slowly to slow down pH rise. It’s at 80 right now. Knocked down by SWG percentage to 10%. Built and painted this privacy wall a couple weeks ago to hide pool equipment. We both liked how it turned out

    New build- Baytown, TX

everything going good so far. This first month we ran the pump 24/7 at 1750 RPM. Our electricity bill only went up by $3 from the previous month (cooler weather helped). I decided I will leave it on 24/7 til atleast summer when bill will get higher. Pool guy added salt in yesterday and gave us...

    New build- Baytown, TX

I have only been adding bleach daily and just added acid for the first time yesterday since last week. Today's readings: pH: 7.8 FC: 4.5 (goal of 7) CH: 250 TA: 70 CYA: 40 This sound normal without adding any baking soda or calcium increase?

pH finally went up today. It read 8.2 so added enough acid to get it to 7.4. FC has been going down to 1-1.5 when I get home to test so bumped my target to 7. CYA I measured at 40. I will see what it reads tomorrow pH and FC wise

    New build- Baytown, TX

Just did a full range of tests. On the 7th I added 6 lbs of stabilizer for CYA goal of 40 and added 161 oz of 8.25% bleach which I got FC of 5. Today: FC-1.5 CC-0 CH-175 TA-50 CYA-30 pH-7.2 There is still solid stabilizer in front of return so adjusting FC back to 5. Should I go to the store...

    New build- Baytown, TX

so just did my first test with pool water. Results: TA-40 (fill water 80) pH-7.2 CH-175 (250) Will a new pool lower those amounts that much? Before I add what pool math says I just want to be sure numbers sound good. They did acid start up and during pool school he put a bunch of baking soda in...

    New build- Baytown, TX

what's the consensus about adding stabilizer and going ahead and adding bleach to get the right numbers in? Look like in poolmath I need to add 6lbs of stabilizer to get CYA to 40. then I will add enough bleach to get FC to 6. ( 1 gal and 3 qt of 6%)

    New build- Baytown, TX

Pool school wasn't as bad as I thought. He said the main thing to watch right now is pH and TA. We put 1 3" chlorine tablet in a float. He said to hold off on stabilizer for a week. He said he just isn't a fan of adding a bunch of stuff right away in a new pool. He did say we can add it right...
