Filling her up. Couldn’t track volume with water meter because it doesn’t have a gauge. Seems it’s an IOT type meter. Probably can look it up online.

Tile and coping done. Had to pump about 3ft of water out of the shell from Imelda. Found out why the tiles were upside down above the skimmers. If they put them right side up the cut side of the porcelain tile would be exposed. It would leave a sharp edge that someone could cut themselves on...

Got my kit and tested my fill water with my helpers. I got my masters in chemistry so they are always eager to do chemistry with dad. It’s not my day job anymore but I might have to talk with our chemical supply guy at the plant to see if I can get some stuff in bulk (phenolphthalein, bleach...

New Pool build in Southwest Florida

You should get a separate single speed 3/4 or 1hp pump that has separate plumbing to the spa that only runs during spillway mode. That will be the baseline flow over the spillway. You can then use the variable speed pump to adjust between trickle and raging river. That’s what I’m doing I. My...

More progress today. Got gutters installed. Drains buried. More tiling work and I love how they did the columns. Decking guy had wanted to rip out all the existing concrete because it sloped toward the house $$$. Decided we would adjust the grading, rip out that small section of concrete and...

It is a two man team that my PB uses for all his jobs. He was clear that they are slow but he feels they do the best job. To me it was just a brain fart thing or a maybe they thought it looked better that way thing.

They will just use the top inch of a tile positioned as if no slimmer was there. That’s what they used already but for some reason flipped it upside down.

They still have a whole box. They will fix it tomorrow by just busting those out and replacing them.

Tile guys are very good. Just one issue. The pieces along the top of the skimmer are upside down.

Done for the day, back tomorrow. The plumbing isn’t under pressure but water is dripping from the filter inlet. Hopefully just needs to be tightened.

The bad news is I lost 2 of 7 sprinkler zones for pool dig. Expected and not a problem. But lost another three and the power cable to the valves when trenching for plumbing. Was hoping for more survival but I got a project now.
