Been awhile since I posted..... but still landscaping our backyard. Hard work is easier in the heat when you can jump in your own pool. The coping is granite from china - most notable brand name is banas stone but it all comes from the same place. There are multiple sources in GTA if you google...

Hayward confirmed it will have no problem keeping up and if there is a really high demand you can crank up production. It’s the 40k gallon turbo cell with tweaks to the electronics.

I'm going to do up some sketches for the plumbing but here is the equipment list I'm getting ready to purchase. I already have 5 Hayward ColourLogic LED's in the pool, 2 poles, nets, and brush. Pump - 1.65HP 230V SUPER PUMP VS700 OMNI VS PUMP - HL2670020VSP Valve Actuator (2) - 24V 180 degree...

I was thinking I could simply drill out hole for each line in 2x material and tag that to the pad. Nothing will move then. I’ve got 2 suction and then spa so I need that on 2 way (likely going to automate). Same with returns out of heater - pool and spa. Still on the fence about automation...

Will dry lay for sure. Have done layout on the width already and I think we’ll keep all pieces equal by taking approx 4” off each stone. I’m digging the butt joints. Will make the pieces over the spa look intentional. Those will have to be 4’ piece and then something around 30”. Couldn’t get...

Took the forms off the equipment pad. Wet day here so I have sometime to focus on finishing the pool! I brought the 1 1/2” through stub up for the pour. Typically theses are cut low and a 90 transition to rigid PVC comes up BUT, since I have such nice long sweeping 90’s on the flex already, can...

I’ll sketch one later but there are 2 suction off skimmer, 2 returns on the splash pad, 2 suction (1 line) in the spa, 5 jets with return and air connected in line. All pipe is 1 1/2” tiger flex. I laid them out through a stub up form in the following order: returns, spa return, spa air, spa...

Tell me about. Onto another project in the backyard for a week but am narrowing down equipment choices. HL2670020VSP - Super 700 VS Omni 325 sq. ft. Quick question on equipment elevation in relation to water level: I can set the equipment pad up so it is anywhere from 6” to 18” below my ideal water line. What elevation do I want the pump connections to be? Anything below the water line? The pad is 20’ to the side of deep end corner.

Got all my conduit runs in, formed up the collar for the pool and poured the other day. Forms off and started to put down crusher run in 2” lifts to raise my elevation. I’m a week away from having pool equipment running. What should I add to my water in the meantime while I run a submersible...

I really like the price of my auto-drain feature! Have to look at the auto-fill systems. Need to move on this before raising grade for pavers.

So that’s what the 3/4” knockout on the back of my skimmer is for! Maybe it’s 1”... Glad you let me know. I can plumb that to our French drain before raising grade. I’ll check out the auto fill. Run to pad is 50’.

I'm having a real tough time finding coping in large lengths that we can use to cap the interior spa walls. Pcs at 7.5' and 8.5' with profile on both edges. We wanted to go with a straight face that had top and bottom edge relieved (think countertop) but finding material is tough in Toronto.

Equipment Choices How can I help populate my equipment list? Pump: Hayward Super Pump Vs 700 Omni - 1 1/2 HP enough for our pool with spa? Automation onboard seems like enough for our pool. Heater - Have electric and nat gas to pool shed but given the need to spike temp for spa and cost of...
