    Hardness and pitting

Hi all, and thanks for reading my question. I had my pool resurfaced about 5 or 6 years ago and recently noticed the steps were feeling a little rough. I got concerned about pitting (I don't really know what it looks like, so it was the first thing I thought), although I suppose it could just be...

Polaris 280: Squealing coming from pressure relief valve

Hi all. I just want to start by saying I am the least mechanically minded person alive. I have ZERO intuition about how things work. My problem is that there is a high pitched squealing coming from the "quick-disconnect" connector in my pool. I think it's coming from the pressure valve. I can...

gray taffy-like material on Polaris 280 tires

Oh yes, definitely it is something with the pool chemistry. I am just hoping someone can tell me WHAT.

gray taffy-like material on Polaris 280 tires

gray taffy-like material on Polaris 280 tires

Hi all, first time poster here. Not a huge issue, because paint thinner removes it (Goo Gone has no effect on it). BUT, does anyone know what this stuff is? It forms on just the tires of my polaris. Never seen it on the hose, the filter basket, or the small filter in the auto-disconnect. Just...

Sigh. Polaris 280 tying itself in knots when I am not looking.

So, I have a tiny pool in my back yard and inherited a polaris with it. It keeps tying itself in a knot, which means it has to be climbing over the intake/outflow valve (not sure what to call it), so it is going up the side of the pool way too high. I did a lot of reading on this forum and then...

new here and need some information on deck renovation ideas

Hello everyone! I have an in ground pool (new FL resident, and it came with the house). The pool is older and has a Kool Deck coated three foot wide surround which butts up against the lawn. Basically, the coping stones are three feet wide. (see pic). I'm not too fond of the look and want to...
