    Bug Identification, please?

I am using the app. And I have been adding what the app says. Yes, I am using the FAS-DPD powder in the kit.

    Bug Identification, please?

I know bugs mean the chemistry isn't right, but the liner alone makes it not need calcium? I'd love to follow that chart but that's beyond my expertise. I have a Taylor Technologies K-2006 testing kit that I think I'm using correctly but like I said, when I added the CH according to the test...

    Bug Identification, please?

(My apologies if I'm in the wrong place.) You can knock them in the water and they stay on the surface and swim back to the side. I guess they're some kind of backswimmer? I'll post testing results later after I've tested today but have applied 2 shock treatments and chlorine and keep...

Reopening pool...is this the right test kit combo?

Yep...sure did. That made a big difference and helped! Got my bleach and MA added...water is clear so we'll probably take a dip in a bit. We're having our central a/c replaced today it's been pretty miserable the last few hours now. Thanks for the help!

Reopening pool...is this the right test kit combo?

Added @ 7 oz. bleach, scrubbed floor and walls with brush, will add shock treatment this evening...how much MA? 12 oz.? And how much CYA?

Reopening pool...is this the right test kit combo?

That post may be better for someone who is not a newbie....I got stumped at Step 1...what's a test cell? I was able to locate the lid instructions online where I could see them, but as a newbie, was still confused. I guess Taylor calls it a comparator instead of test tube and at first, I had a...

Reopening pool...is this the right test kit combo?

I'm about to cry...I see no instructions for how to test the water in the book that came with it and the print on the inside of this lid is too small for my old eyes to read!

Reopening pool...is this the right test kit combo?

We have an Intex 15' x15'x 42" Metal Frame Swimming Pool with Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System with E.C.O. (Electrocatalytic Oxidation) - 4,646.25 gallons. In the past, we used strips but I'm upgrading to a "real" test kit this year. Is this a good combo for us? Taylor Technologies K-2006...

Calcium on SWG cell in 3 days?!?!?!?

Whatever you do, do NOT add more salt thinking it is truly a "low salt" issue! :) Been there, done that... Did the vinegar work well? I used diluted muriatic acid and water after manually brushing off what I could with a toothbrush.

Should there be that much build up on it 3 days time?

Calcium on SWG cell in 3 days?!?!?!?

Dirty SWG Cell: http://s6.postimg.org/jd4jdznj5/20150728_194359a.jpg I just cleaned it 3 days ago!!!! SWG seems to be running okay - we can smell a little chlorine smell when it's running (is that normal?). Clean SWG Cell: http://s6.postimg.org/o9865onoh/20150725_112338a.jpg CH is reading...

SWG Wear & Tear? Cell question...

Yay! We drained some water, added fresh...I re-added some bleach and MA and started the SWG...so far, no ERRORS! And, hubby and I both smelled chlorine, as if we could smell what the SWG was making??? I think a promising sign so far...I'll go check on it later to be sure it's not throwing any...

What did you do to your pool today?

You're in my "hood"! :) We're reading 95 at the moment, though. :) Edited to add: pool temp was 86-87 but it is in some shade...it did get a little cold when the wind blew, but it still felt better than the heat! :D

What did you do to your pool today?

That's hysterical! - - - Updated - - - I removed the cell and copper thing in the SWG to clean the calcium off of it, put it together to discover the filter (that we just changed 3-4 days ago) was nasty (had no flow) BUT now the SWG is reading a high salt level like it's supposed to. About...

SWG Wear & Tear? Cell question...

Nevermind...hubs took the copper piece out, failed to mention the tiny little seal so I missed that when I put it back together. Got it all put back together again, no flow...filter is nasty again already! Changed filters again, started SWG, got a high salt warning, so at least it's what I...

SWG Wear & Tear? Cell question...

OK...so I got it all pieced back together after cleaning but is there some trick for the copper piece? I've un-screwed it and screwed it back in again twice and it's now steady dripping. :(

SWG Wear & Tear? Cell question...

"Numbers": FC: by color, I would say a 2, even though it's not listed for comparison on the strip results chart, but it's between 1 and 3 TA: 120 pH: 7.8 (and I would lean more towards 7.6 by color on it, too) My other post suggested holding off on the SWG until these got straightened out... I...

SWG Wear & Tear? Cell question...

So, the numbers are good in the pool, but the water is still a bit cloudy and the SWG keeps throwing a "low salt" error, despite having added 30 lbs. in the past 3 days. So, I looked a little closer at the SWG and ran across the cell...is this normal???

No way! Numbers this morning... FC: 3 Alk: 120 pH: 7.8 All good, right? I added half a bag of salt, hoping to deter the "low salt" error on the SWG when it comes back on, too. It's still cloudy, but definitely a bit clearer today. Safe to swim, though?

Well, just out of curiosity, I just ran out and tested again...it's been about 3.5 hours since I added the MA and bleach. FC: 3 Alk: 180 (still :( ) pH: 7.8 I am impressed that there's that kind of change in just a few hours, though! Can't wait until the morning! When should I panic about...
