    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

Thanks everybody! Yes I do have a solar cover. We are dropping to 7/8C overnight at the moment, but the heat pump is managing to keep up. I've made a start on wall mounting the heat pump. I plan on running the rigid pipes next week. I've used some nice and strong wall bolts. The bracket may be...

I've decided to make a alteration to the pool. We love the pool, but as it is taller than the other 30" pools, it dominates the garden. When the season ends, I've decided to lower part of the pool into the ground by 18". It's took me a few days to work out how to do this safely, and with...

    Metal wall liner question...

I have some loose liner above the water level. I would like to remove the top capping/rail to pull it taught. This would mean unscrewing the top capping and removing a section of the top ring. My worry is the pool collapsing. Would I need to empty the pool to retention the liner, or can I just...

We ended up with the water at 31C today. The controls are set for 33C with a drop allowance of 3C. So the pool should now vary between 30-33C etc. The kids love the pool, and I had a hard time getting them out!

    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

I've hooked up the new 8.5kw heat pump. It's only on the floor until I wall mount it. I had to mod the Intex hoses to 2" rigid pipe. They don't leak, so that's good. Once the heater is wall mounted, I will change most the piping to rigid pipe. I think I will be keeping the flexi hoses from the...

    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

The heat pump is going up on Saturday. I will post some pics. The plan is to wall mount and just get it running. Then sort out the pipes into a neater permanent arrangement the week after. It is supposed to have a minimum of 30cm rear space. I think I will only manage 25cm. The "suck" side can...

    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

Everything went well with the build. No leaks and I since connected the Intex SWG. I added approximately 35kg of salt(£30). The first problem I encountered was the timer on the Intex SWG combo pump/filter. The timer operates both SWG and pump together. This means I have to manually switch to...

Poseidon being installed. It was windy and I was on my own. So I used a couple of chairs to stop the walls collapsing. Inlet/Skimmer installed. Old pump used just to check for leaks.

    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

This year we decided to go deeper. A 12'x48" Metal wall Bestway Poseidon was again picked up cheap. RRP is £999 and online for £720. I found a supplier in Spain for £413 + £50 delivery. The first problem I came across was the pools top edge would be wider than the metal frames. This meant the...

    Small DIY 12'x48" AGP...(UK)

Hi, I thought I would post some pics to introduce myself. I'm Paul and I'm from the UK. I've no doubt I will be needing peoples help, and I am very happy to offer any help no matter how limited that may be! Grab a drink, I will outline my starting process to maybe help others who have zero...

How much space needed to erect a metal walled AGP?

I installed a 12'x48" metal wall Bestway Poseidon last week. Like a lot of British gardens, space is small. I allowed 4" clearance on the fence side. I had to lie down to screw the pool wall post in place. I positioned/rotated the pool with the posts in mind. The top rail/plate is in line with...

Newbie alert! Intex SWG and a heat pump...

Hi Richard, thanks for the response. It's a Intex CS8231 Saltwater/Pump/Filter combo. The timer settings are for how long the SWG runs for. After running for a set time, say two hours, the whole pump shuts down into standby mode. 24 hours later, it runs for two hours again. This is not long...

Newbie alert! Intex SWG and a heat pump...

Hi. I'm very new to this, and being in the UK means very little local support. Over the last three years, I've progressed from a Intex 10'x30" metal frame AGP to a 12'x30". This year I have just installed a metal wall 12'x48" Bestway Poseidon. I've just been using multi chem chlorine tablets to...
