Hayward TCELL925 causing pool to be charged enough to shock

OK, so yesterday I reached into my filter basket to clean out the leaves and was shocked. When it happened, I thought it was odd, but kept moving. Then I reached in again to clean out my robot and got the same shock. At the point, I knew something was wrong. My first though was light, so I...

Need help diagnosing a Maytronic Active 20 (not power supply, cord, or impeller)

Good news, I cleaned out the motor and let it sit in the sun all day and now it works. Does anyone know if I can but a new o ring to seal up the motor? I will probably also look for a rice packet or something on Amazon to pull moisture away. Maybe I'll get another year.

Need help diagnosing a Maytronic Active 20 (not power supply, cord, or impeller)

Can you replace just the motor? I assume it's 12v. Maybe I can give it 12v and see if it works?

Need help diagnosing a Maytronic Active 20 (not power supply, cord, or impeller)

I did that as well yesterday with the same results. It only goes in one direction and the blower does turn on for a brief moment. Sorry, it's about 5 years old.

Need help diagnosing a Maytronic Active 20 (not power supply, cord, or impeller)

OK, I have done tons of searching and am not finding any way to test the motor. Current status: Turn the power supply on, robot turns on, moves in reverse for about 3 seconds. At that point, everything on the robot turns off. The power supply lights still stays on. When the power turns on...

Omnilogic controlling GVA-24 help (pool guy screwed it up)

Hmmm... maybe when I reconnected the wires on the old actuator one of them didn't connect right. I guess that would make it so only one direction worked. I'll check tomorrow.

Omnilogic controlling GVA-24 help (pool guy screwed it up)

I have an Omnilogic setup which has been working fine for several years. It is being used to control several GVA-24 valves. Two months ago I had an issue with my pump (not related to the valves) and called a local shop to help me. While he was here, he told me one of my valves wasn't working...

    Clear water but low chlorine

Thanks, I'll go dump a few gallons in. That is what I was thinking. Hoping if I nip it now, we can swim this weekend.

    Clear water but low chlorine

Last weekend I came home from the lake and noticed there was a ton of oak pollen on my pool. My filter was clogged but still running. After spending 2 hours cleaning as much as I could out, I tested and noticed the Chlorine was pretty close to zero. I poured a half gallon of bleach in to get...

    Maytronics Active 30 disassembly video

My pool just got filled with a bunch of leaves and I had my Active 30 running on auto. It filled up with leaves. I noticed in the black inlet there were leaves in there, so I assume there are leaves that I can't see further in. I attempted to blow all the leaves out then tried to run it and...

SLAM Question (had to go out of town mid-way through)

Sounds good. I added some FC last night and got it up to 28. I also just checked my CYA and that dropped to 70, so I am right where I need to be.

SLAM Question (had to go out of town mid-way through)

Do I need to bring the FC back up to 31 or should I leave it at 23/24 and just give it more time? My CC has been popping back and forth between 0 and 0.5.

SLAM Question (had to go out of town mid-way through)

I was in the process of SLAMing my pool towards the end of last week. I also got pretty busy with work at the same time so I wasn't taking measurements like I should have. I brought it up to 31 ppm and had it there for 3 days. After the first, it was pretty clear with exception to around my...

    Lingering Algae

That is interesting. I have never heard this. This is basically what I have been getting for over a year now. I only use it when SLAMing. What extra stuff do they put in it...

    Lingering Algae

Step 1 complete: add acid to reduce pH to 7.2 Step 2 complete: dump 4.8 containers of bleach in the water and turn pumps to 100%. Step 3 complete: brush entire pool (complements of 10 year old) Step 4: wait patiently (the part I am not good at). Step 5: costco run for more bleach

    Lingering Algae

Sounds good. Thanks for the advice as always. I will go dump some bleach in now to get the ball rolling.

    Lingering Algae

FYI, I just measured my FC (7) and CYA (80) in prep for another SLAM if that is what you think I should do.

    Lingering Algae

I have not done another overnight test, but could easily do it. I was just prepping to SLAM again because it's clear I have a problem and I guess I need to get rid of the algae for good. I am just not sure why it came back. I would assume my circulation is good if I am running my pump for...

    Lingering Algae

Sorry I should clarify. I went through the SLAM process and brought the FC back down then a few weeks later I started seeing algae back in the pool. Not a lot, just on the tanning ledges. Basically it looks like it has a green tint on the tanning ledge. Then when I brush it you definitively...

    Lingering Algae

I've been told that in the past. I think it's because my pool gets very little full sun. It really only gets sun from 10am to 3pm. In the morning it's shaded by the house and shaded by trees in the afternoon.

    Lingering Algae

My SWCG runs during the 12 hours the pool pump is on. I do have a spa (which doesn't seem to have algae). I run the spa in overflow from 7 am to 10 am then the pool side from 10 am to 7 pm. During that whole time the SWGC runs at 31% (1.6 ppm/day according to Pool Math).
