    Over night drop in FC

"Then on the top left hamburger menu," Nothing like that comes up. After I enter pool Setup info I can't go anywhere. Maybe it's just for Iphone and not Adroid?

    Over night drop in FC

If anything I may have inadvertently increased CYA by ill-advisedly attempting to shock with a CalHypo product 4 days ago, after having added 4 gal of LC which had no effect. Obviously I should have read the TFP info more carefully before I started . To recap: 7/22 added 3 gal LC; 7/24...

    Over night drop in FC

Thanks for your answer. I added the LC about 6 PM and tested at 10 PM. I adjusted the Taylor figures to account for my pool size. At your suggestion , I installed PoolMath on my phone, but cannot see any calculation functions, just a Pool Set Up page.

    Over night drop in FC

I am trying to follow SLAM, but am a little unclear on adding chlorine during the day. With CYA around 40 the table says I need to get it FC to 16. According to the chart in the Taylor Kit, 5 gallons should raise the FC from 0 to 16. but Last night 4 gallons of 10% liquid raised FC only to 6...

    Over night drop in FC

The Slam info indicates that if FC level falls overnight it indicates contamination is consuming chlorine, and my test results at 10 PM showed FC at 6, but at 7 AM it down to 3. Am I just wasting time and chlorine?I believe the only source of contamination is the filter. I cleaned my filter...

After cleaning filter, water remained a yellowish cloudiness

I didn't test beyond chlorine and PH. I don't get any reading for chlorine, and as nearly as I can color match, ph is 7.6 compared to 8 in Leslies test. What I'm trying to understand is where did the 5 gallons of chlorine disappear to.

After cleaning filter, water remained a yellowish cloudiness

I added 5 gal liquid (10%) chlorine, and the water cleared up overnight; however my test kit (taylor k2006) indicates no free chlorine. I took sample to Leslies and they show .13 ppm, and ph 8 and 1846 ppb phosphates along with .5 ppm copper. I'm attaching their 3 page report They recommend a...

    Feeder hose vs. Leader hose

Thanks, but I was not asking how to size the hose, I've read all those instructions: I'm tryin to determine if the hose material is important. Amazon lists a 10' FEED hose section (D45) at $19.95 but a 10' LEADER hose is $32.99. Just trying to find out if there is a benefit to the higher...

    Feeder hose vs. Leader hose

Is it okay to use a 10' feed hose as the leader or is it important to buy the much more expensive leader hose? What's the difference in the two hoses? I'm in the process of overhauling my Polaris 280.

Wow, much more to this than I imagined. Thanks for all the info. Unfortunately I have no empty slots, so it will be a big deal for me to do a complete SP install.

    Surge protectors

Okay. Thank you for the info. Clearly you know a lot more than I do about how these work. My panel if full and I don't see how this could be installed there. Is there a different type that could be used at the equipment end?

    Surge protectors

Most of what I've read about SP devices says install at the sub-panel. My equipment is connected to a breaker in my 100 amp main panel. I'd like to put an Intermatic PS 3000 in front of my timer, but my electrical knowledge is minimal. Am I correct in thinking that the SP device just sits on...

Someone mentioned INYO and I see they offer 2 year DIY warranty on their Waterway PD140 variable. Any idea whether that's a quality unit?

    Pump selection

Need to replace fried 2 speed pump. Among variables, is there a consensus as to preferred brand? Jandy, Hayward, or Pentair? I'm being told that it's essential to replace the existing breakers with a specific type that's approved for the variable pump, but I see people who self installed...

    Motor fried?

Seems like Intermatic instructions would have warned me about that. Thanks. Do you think it's advisable to try to get the motor repaired?
