Lisa, am I right that you have a screenlogic box that lets you control the easy touch from your computer/iphone? Something you said earlier made me think you do. If so, that is the easiest way to set up the pump speeds. Otherwise it is controlled through the easy touch panel.

I don't think anyone here would support doing a shock on a regular basis. If you maintain a balanced chemistry with FC 5-7% of your CYA level, Algae will not grow, Combined chlorine won't be an issue, and you will have a low stress pool. The Texas sun does mean you'll have higher chlorine loss...
