    IC 40 leak

I lube up the orings on my IC60 then just give the unions about 1/8 turn additional after hand tightening using my big channel locks. I am 77 and cannot hand tighten things as tight as I used to be able to do. I have never had a leak after doing this, and have never brocken a union.

    Jandy valves rebuild

Thanks, Jim. I agree. Prying the cover off, removing and replacing the screws is by far the biggest part of the job. I don't know what a pool company would charge to do this, but seems like a very cost effective DIY project. Gary

    Jandy valves rebuild

Just rebuilt 1 of 4 Jandy valves in my pool plumbing that was leaking air. That fixed that problem. Since all 4 of my Jandy valves are 30+ years old, I plan to rebuild all of them. On the one I just rebuilt, I replaced the cover, orings and diverter, making it all new except the valve body...

    pentair ic60 not generating chlorine

I just bought an IC60 from Polytech a few months ago. Great service and average pricing. Could not find my IC anywhere but Polytech at the time. Gary

IC60 maybe producing chlorine while in cold water cutoff mode

I guess this should now be in the pumps and plumbing section, but I will finish my story. Rebuilt one of the two Jandy valves in my suction side plumbing and no more bubbles. I have four Jandy valves in my plumbing, all 30 plus years old. Time to rebuild all of them and stave off leaking...

IC60 maybe producing chlorine while in cold water cutoff mode

Answered my own question. Disconnected IC60 and ran pump. Bubbles. So now I get to troubleshoot a suction side leak. Sigh. A little strange that the bubbles are only coming out of the return that is closest to the pump. Gary

IC60 maybe producing chlorine while in cold water cutoff mode

Thanks for the reply, Jim. Just the red cold water light is on, no others. Still bubbles. Tomorrow if it is not raining I will disconnect the IC60 from the power supply. If the bubbles go away, then I know it is a problem with the IC60. If not then I have a suction side leak somewhere. I did...

IC60 maybe producing chlorine while in cold water cutoff mode

My IC60 is now in cold cutoff mode because pool temp is 52 deg. It appears that it is still producing chlorine because the return port nearest the pool equipment has bubbles coming out of it, just as it does when in normal operation and the cell light is green. When in normal operation the...

    Cell threads too tight??

Every time I take off my IC60, after inspection and cleaning if required I clean off the surfaces where the orings will contact, pull the orings off and clean, re-install them and then apply a good layer of silicone lubricant to the oring and mating surface. I crank down the big nuts as tight as...

    Pentair Flashing Green Cell Light

Same thing happened to me. Cell light flashing, just cleaned it spic and span 3 weeks ago. I only got 3 1/2 years out of this one and never used MA to clean, just water and popsicle sticks. Just ordered and new one from Polytec today.

    THEPOOLGUYSTORE.COM

Thepoolguystore.com canceled my order and refunded my money. Very fast and unexpected. I wonder if someone in their company saw this post on TFP and took some action. Thanks again, guys!

    THEPOOLGUYSTORE.COM

Thanks everyone for the great info. I guess I am going to learn a very expensive lesson. Never purchase from an on line store before: 1. Checking with the great people at TFP to see if they have any comments. 2. Seeing if they will answer a phone call and verify that they have the item in...

    THEPOOLGUYSTORE.COM

Thepoolguystore.com Has anyone used this outfit before? I purchased an Intellichlor IC60 from them last night and even paid for overnight shipping. My IC60 crapped out and I was desperate to find a replacement as soon as possible. They sent me a email purchase receipt right away. Anyhow, I...

    Typical evaporation rates

A 1/2" loss in a week is not bad. In my Riverside, CA desert environment I have lost as much as 1" per day when the temp is 110 degrees and a wind is blowing. I have a pool fill valve as part of my sprinkler controller that adds a few minutes of fill each day, but I sill have to look each...

    Chlorine & Acid Supply Shortage???

My local Leslies has been out of MA for a few weeks now. Local Lowes has it, but 14 percent so I have to add twice as much or twice as often. Found a local Mom and Pop store that has 31 percent, but is limited to 2 gallons per customer. Local Leslies is only about a mile away, so I wish they...

Pentair easy touch without SCG integration

In theory, you can connect up to 256 devices to an RS-485 bus depending upon the electrical characteristics of the Transceivers. I have a VS pump, Screenlogic wireless antenna and Intellichlor IC60 all attached to my EasyTouch J20 connector. I find that the easiest way to connector multiple...

Where do you put the power supply for your robot?

My power supply lives on the caddy along with the cleaner in my garage. When in use, it is under a patio cover in the shade. I don't like to leave a $1000 tool out in the elements. Gary

Yes, I change it before I fire the heater up. Easier than going out to the pad to manually change it by hand.

    Automated Heater Bypass

I installed a CVA-24 Actuator on my heater bypass plumbing which existed with a manual valve on the pool when I bought the house. With my setup, using my EasyTouch 8 I can set the valve to partially bypass the heater which is my normal mode to reduce head pressure, or run all of the water...

    easytouch 8, pentair ic60,screenlogic - communication lost

It has been a couple of years since I installed the data cable into my IC power center, but as I recall the screw block separates from the piece that is soldered in the circuit board. Just pull the screw block straight off, connect the wires and push is back on. I am old and my memory is shot...

Pentair IC40 install with EasyTouch 8 sanity check

I used the dummy cell when I did my IC60 vertical install. It was easier to manipulate things when dry fitting and doing the final install. I did not want to damage my IC60 during construction and the dummy cell is a lot lighter than the IC60. After all the piping was installed I just swapped...

Help needed - Pool pad equipment dry fit - What would you change?

I did not want my loop to stick up any higher than necessary so I made it shorter than recommended. My SWG runs great, no issues I have seen. Gary

Help needed - Pool pad equipment dry fit - What would you change?

I think the loop you have for the vertical mount SWG is a little larger than you need. I have been running my vertical install IC60 as shown for a year and a half now with no issues. Gary
